Roast meats or siu mei (燒味) is a dish of Cantonese cuisine, found throughout Malaysia because of the Chinese diaspora. Dishes will usually include roast pork (siu yuk, 燒肉), barbecue pork (char siu, 叉燒), roast chicken rice (siu gaai, 燒雞) and an assortment of other roasts such as roast duck (siu ngaap, 燒鴨) and braised chicken (lou gaai, 滷雞). The roast chicken rice here was glistening and flavourful, with sweet and savoury skin, but most importantly, how tender the flesh was. The char siu however, was simply outstanding, crispy charred on the outside, with a nice intense caramel flavour throughout every bite, it is their speciality after all. Do not miss ordering this dish. The roast pork wasn’t too bad, but was not the highlight of the roasts. A little on the expensive side coming to about RM60.00 odd for 4 people, but do give it a try.
