Great news to the Easties! A takoyaki cum 煎饼 takeaway kiosk is now situated at the basement of Century Square, adding on to your dining options. Differing from the conventional takoyakis, the ones here are all freshly prepared upon order, hence do expect a waiting time of up to 15 minutes during peak hours! Nevertheless, I certainly do not mind the wait for something that’s fresh and hot out of the pan✨. Among all 3 flavours I’ve tried, my personal favourite is the squid ink which is stuffed with sausage, apart from the usual octopus, along with sweet chilli sauce in a black squid ink ball, topped with seaweed and bonito flakes for an added umami flavour. Each ball is soft, chewy with a substantial amount of fillings within that makes it an enjoyable, comfort snack! I might even consider smuggling these into the cinema, if not for the fact that it doesn’t taste as good when it turns cold! Personally not a huge fan of takoyaki in general as the ones I had in Pasar Malam and conventional stores are too starchy for me, with minimal fillings. But the ones here just spoke otherwise, with great texture and a well balanced ratio of fillings .
