I never really liked Japanese sweet beancurds because they're always wayyyyv too sweet. Noodles too. Especially the udons I used to eat. They always taste floury in your mouth.
But Rakuzen never fails me. I love their dragon rolls but I just wanted something simple and light today. So why not try something new!
Soba noodles had a very nice texture and well cooked. Soup is so clear I love it. The beancurd compliments this whole dish perfectly. The sweetness was toned down by the soup. Soba is a healthier choice in Japanese restaurants compared to their tempura and white rice set meals. However, everything made in Japanese restaurants are healthy anyway. Sashimi, grilled meat/fish, sukiyaki and shabu shabu. You name it. Tempura is just the least healthiest. But they don't use much batter anyway!
Overall, it was a very satisfying meal. Don't look down on it! Although it looks little, you'll be stuffed after eating half of the noodles.
Food: 8/10 Price: 7/10 (RM 23 - it is one fancy Japanese restaurant with quality food anyway)
