Chicken Laksa

$7.90 · 4 Reviews

ordered the chicken laksa and got a buffed up version barley drink during lunch hour. when i said buffed up, im comparing to toast box's version.

broth was not bad. but would prefer it to be more gao and spicier. adding the chilli paste in made the broth better. i added in like 3/4 of the portion given. and sadly, there were no laksa leaves.

chicken was normal. i just threw the rest into the laksa after i tasted one piece in its original form.

overall, it was alright for me because i get to dine in an air conditioned environment for this price point.

9.3 for this set lunch.

Rather timely since it's the year of the Rooster.
This was their take on the chicken rice sushi, quite an appealing idea. We loved the rice, fragrant and not too mushy for sushi make. Size was just right for a good mouthful of good flavours. However, felt that they could do with more meat compared to the ratio of rice. Personally, I would love the chicken to come with skin to be more complete, perhaps some crispy fried skin for an extra texture?
Overall, this was something we would recommend for its novelty without compromising on the flavours of chicken rice.
Their other dishes such as the Chilli crab toast dips and Chicken laksa were also worth trying. Do check out their Durian creme brûlée and Nanyang panna cotta for some sweet endings with our local Asian touch. #burpple #burpplesg #foodgasm #foodpornsg #sgfood #sgfoodies #sgfoodporn #sgmakandiary #foodpics #foodstagram #foodie #instafood_sg #instagramsg #instasg #whati8today #nomnomnom #instafoodsg #eatoutsg #foodforfoodies #NomNomSG #sgmakandiary #SGhawker #sgfoodlover #sgigfoodies #instafood_sg #stfoodtrending #hawkerfood #jiaklocal #burpproved #chickenrice #sushi

Chicken Laksa ($7.90)

Of the few specials, this is one of the best at Roost. Laksa gravy was lemak and the chicken meat was smooth. Overall, the soya sauce chicken thigh meat tasted the best for me.

Went for this Laksa which was actually pretty decent. Rempah spices were evident and the laksa carried a hint of coconuty fragrance from the coconut milk added which made it pretty Lemak. The poached chicken which comes on the side were slippery smooth and tender; a little savoury from the sauce beneath.
