The situation only starts to recover when the dessert arrives: CARAMELIA CHOCOLATE MOUSSE, Brown Sugar Biscuit, Haitian Coffee Cream Toffee-Muscovado Ice Cream - Love the plating! Mopped up evey crumb.
Mum's main: DUO OF BEEF, Black Angus Short Ribs with Beet Marmalade, Seared Wagyu Tenderloin, Braised Savoy Cabbage, Crispy Chickpea Panisse, Bordelaise Jus, Supplement $16
My main: TASTING OF VEAL, Roasted Tenderloin with Eggplant Purée, Braised Cheeks with Glazed Zucchini, Crispy Sweetbreads with Caper Caponata - it was just okay. Done well but not wow. James' main (trio of milk fed pig) was worse, bland in taste and presentation.
My starter: TAI SNAPPER CEVICHE WITH CUCUMBER VINAIGRETTE, Tapioca Pearls, Shaved Radishes
Sea Urchin, Northern Lights Caviar - Kind of bland but I never say no to uni and caviar together in one dish. Thought mum's peekytoe crab salad was much better.
