If you're craving an elevated Korean BBQ experience, The House Chung Dam serves it up with finesse and fire.
We went for the House Feast, featuring a decadent trio: boneless short ribs, marinated short rib, and thinly sliced brisket. The highlight? The attentive staff grilling each cut tableside to perfectionâlocking in those juicy, smoky flavors while letting us sit back and savor the aroma. The boneless short ribs were melt-in-your-mouth tender, the marinated ones had a beautifully balanced sweetness, and the brisket was delightfully crisp around the edges.
We also added pork jowl, which had a rich, fatty biteâcrispy on the outside, buttery inside. It paired incredibly well with the array of banchan and dipping sauces.
To round off the meal, we tried both types of noodles: the Bibim Noodles were refreshingly spicy and tangy, with a great chewy texture and generous slices of beef and greens. The Cold Buckwheat Noodles (Mul Naengmyeon) were light and clean, offering the perfect palate cleanserâserved in a chilled, savory broth topped with radish, egg, and slivers of beef.
From presentation to service, The House Chung Dam nails the modern K-BBQ vibe. Itâs a little on the premium end, but every bite and moment felt worth it.

Come hungry, leave happyâand smelling gloriously of charcoal and sizzling meat.
I dropped by Salmon Warrior recently and tried their highly recommended Surf & Turf Don along with a side of tamago sushi in three flavours â and I must say, it was a satisfying experience both visually and taste-wise.
The Surf & Turf Don came generously portioned with flame-torched salmon slices and tender grilled beef, laid over a bed of fluffy Japanese rice. The salmon had that perfect smoky char while still maintaining a buttery texture. The beef was juicy and flavourful, with just the right amount of seasoning â no sauce overload, just clean, savoury notes that complemented the salmon well. Paired with crunchy broccoli, sweet corn, and juicy cherry tomatoes, the bowl struck a good balance between protein, carbs, and veg.
As for the tamago sushi platter, it was surprisingly impressive for whatâs often seen as a simple side. Each tamago slice was thick, sweet, and custardy, with a twist from the toppings:
The Garlic Butter Tamago was rich and fragrant, perfect for garlic lovers.
The Mentai Tamago was creamy and indulgent, with that umami hit we all crave.
And the Mala Mentai Tamago? A spicy surprise! It brought a mild, tingly heat without overpowering the eggâs natural sweetness â definitely a standout.
Overall, Salmon Warrior nails it in terms of value, presentation, and taste. If you're craving a hearty, protein-loaded donburi with a side of creative sushi bites, this spotâs worth checking out.

đ Crispy Squid Tentacles
Golden-fried to perfection, these squid tentacles were crisp outside and tender within, with zero greasiness. The homemade honey-lime mayonnaise was the perfect companionâcreamy, citrusy, and slightly sweetâwhile a wedge of charred lemon added a bright, smoky zing. Seafood done right.
Dining at Sushi Muni was an intimate and masterful omakase experience. Each dish showcased precision, seasonality, and a deep respect for Japanese tradition. Highlights included the silky chawanmushi, refreshing tomato somen, and an array of expertly crafted nigiri. The maguro was tender and pristine, while the saba delivered a bold, briny punch. Uni, served gunkan-style, was rich and indulgentâtruly a standout.
The negitoro maki provided a comforting finish to the savory courses, followed by delicate warabi mochi with kuromitsu, a sweet and elegant close to the meal. From the serene setting to the attentive service, Sushi Muni delivers thoughtful craftsmanship and understated excellence.

This was like the snack you didnât know you needed. Extra crispy, well-seasoned, and super addictiveâperfect either as a side or a crispy munch alongside the rice dishes. Best enjoyed hot and dipped in chilli.
Holy Haddock! â Signature Fish Burger đđ
A playful name for a seriously good fish burger. The haddock was crispy on the outside, flaky on the inside, and sandwiched between a soft, slightly toasted bun. The slaw and sauce inside gave it a creamy, zesty punch, making every bite satisfying. Itâs the kind of burger youâd crave again after the first bite.
The claypot turtle soup was a standout dish, featuring a rich, herbal broth packed with deep umami flavors. The combination of goji berries, red dates, and fresh coriander added a slight sweetness that balanced the earthiness of the turtle meat. The meat itself was tender and gelatinous, soaking up the herbal essence beautifully. Itâs a dish that truly warms the soul and feels like a health tonic in every spoonful.
Tajima MBS 6-7 Wagyu Picanha
A true indulgence, the Wagyu Picanha was a masterclass in simplicity and execution. The shio koji marinade deepened the meatâs natural umami, allowing its marbling to shine. Each bite was intensely flavorful, perfectly paired with slow-roasted banana shallots that added a caramelized sweetness.
Claypot Hokkien Mee đđ„
Served piping hot in a claypot, this Hokkien mee was pure comfort food. The thick, wok-kissed noodles soaked up the savory seafood-infused gravy, delivering a rich, smoky aroma (that unmistakable wok hei!). The prawns were fresh and plump, while the addition of pork belly and squid added extra layers of flavor.
The Burrata Di Puglise at Meadesmoore elegantly combines creamy burrata with refreshing green gazpacho, perfectly complemented by the delicate courgalette tagliatelle and the fruity notes of arbequina EVO oil. The mixed steak platter, featuring loin, ribcap, and flatiron cuts, showcases expert grilling technique and is served alongside tender grilled broccolini, offering a delightful balance of flavors and textures. As for the dessert, the yuzu-based sorbet delivers a refreshing citrus burst that concludes the meal on a light and satisfying note.
