Sausages are fine, especially the spicy one.
Other porky goodness is slightly less impressive, but porky nonetheless!

Situated at a showroom gallery by the main road Jalan Kepong - this is a cosy little corner serving nice coffee in fair ambience. Limited food options available - try the Chicken Aglio Olio (RM14), it's decent at the very least. If you are in the vicinity, why not drop by before 6pm to try the new outlet? :)

The shop will tell you it sells fusion thai food.
The menu says so too.
But in actual fact - no one bothers about that too much as it is some good food served here at reasonable price range.
Nice ambience and delicious thai food.

When Ipoh dimsum is too main stream and western style breakfast is too "not-Ipoh" - this old school coffee place is always welcoming you with its aromatic white coffee and curry mee alike - and please do order a portion of the ever so lovely kaya with glutinous rice.. guaranteed to make you bookmark the place for future visits!

Two thumbs up for the owner's effort in the rustic decor for the heritage status building, serving excellent food and coffee - just not your usual cliche modern cafe, but a real cosy dining corner that is definitely worth your visit if you ever come to Alor Setar!

Cosy little diner serving fresh seafood.
This seafood bruschetta is nicely done, with toasted baguette topped by delicious seafood mix with hints of gooey cheese.
Sashimi is fresh (at a premium price too expectedly) while salted egg pasta is a hot seller.
Parking is abundant.

Dare I say among the best in Klang Valley too :)
Simple diner serving many varieties of authentic Szuchuanese and Hunanese dishes - best evidenced by the presence of PRC clients in lunch and dinner times. This dish of spicy pork (RM26, easily good for two) is simply irresistible with just perfect blend of aromatic and tasty spices. Fish version available too, apart from many other "must order" dishes such as Mala Tofu, Kou Shui Chicken, hotplate cabbage, cumin mutton...

Lamb rice bowl (true, succulent soft lamb slices as advertised, but with a lot of fat too, RM25) plus draft beer -- that's almost all about it. Other than that, don't expect much. True to its name, it's more a beer bar than any true food outlet.

Nestled in Damansara Jaya nearby Atria Mall, the shop serves decent roast stuffs - roast pork, charsiu, or chicken - matched with either Japanese Pearl Rice (as "cutely" seen in pic) or springy noodles. Gulp down with green tea or barley. Price is "urban level" - RM15 and below for individual portion meal; so while its siuyoke not the heavenly-level like Wong Mei Kee in Pudu, it's also not requiring its insane level of queue so PJ folks can enjoy a plate of crispy skin porky delicacy easily! Oh ya, it starts at 830am too if you want it early! :)

Instagram-able modern corner shop cafe - serving well-prepared Wanton Mee (at a premium price of course, RM16 and above) and barista-level latte art drinks under one roof - plus some Yakiniku skewers in the evening onwards.

Must say the food is well above par, a place worth visiting as much as their trending reviews.

Within walking distance from Surian station of MRT.

Long heard about this 'must-eat' place especially for mutton-lover like me - so when i finally tried this today - look at the miserable meal presentation, with special attention at the portion of mutton varuval.. Taste-wise just about but what appalled me is the cut-throat price - that mutton portion alone costs RM12!!

Needless to say. That's it for the only visit from me. To editor - please consider remove the place from recommendation in the PJ Old Town Guide to avoid more people being robbed under daylight!

P/S : for much better banana leaf rice in the vicinity at similar lunch time - highly-recommended to head to Acha Curry House off Jalan Gasing..

This is sesame pasta with grilled chicken slices (RM18) which is basically aglio olio style pasta but dressed with some sesame sauce (?kewpie) with slices of beautifully-grilled succulent chicken breast. Altogether make a comforting meal especially looking out thru a big mirror at tranquil neighborhood. Good effort from the new eatery!

Don't forget the Rusty Coffee :)
