The warm French toast was topped with a generous amount of cut strawberries, a scoop of their homemade whipped cream, drizzled with strawberry sauce and maple syrup before dusting it with powdered sugar for a delightful finish. What’s not to like when it accompanied with a much needed cup of coffee - a Hikoboshi blend coffee to be exact...!!

My colleague brought us here cos he thinks that they serve the best coffee. As usual, I ordered a large flat white. Although I ordered a large, I didn’t expect such a big cup - I definitely have enough caffeine in my system to keep me awake tonight. The coffee was deliciously strong, rich and well-balanced.

Located just behind Sembawang Hills Food Centre, the coffee joint is spacious and it’s definitely a nice place to chill out with friends or with oneself over a cup of coffee and a good book.

They roast their own coffee too. In fact, there a roasting machine towards the back of the store and I can imagine how nice it must be when the coffee aroma fills the place when roasting begins.

Beef Enchilada - 3 baked beef enchiladas topped with ancho sauce, melted cheese, chopped cilantro and house-made corn and black bean salsa with citrus-chile rice and black beans. The Enchiladas went well with a glass of Hoegaarden - a Belgian wheat beer - light, fruity and refreshing.

One mouthful of the enchiladas brought me back to my Uni days in Arizona - where I was first introduced to Mexican food and have loved it ever since. We’ve made tacos, burritos, quesadillas and enchiladas at home before but it never taste quite the same 🌮. If you want something light, have Pontian Wanton Noodle - the portion was kind of small - no wonder the lady at the counter asked if I wanted to 加面 (add more noodles) - I said “No”. But I’m glad I said “Yes” to the chilli. In fact, I should have asked for more cos that was really the star of the dish - the chilli made the noodle tasted good...!!

I was disappointed with their wanton though. It was basically fried wanton skin - shouldn’t have ordered an extra side portion even though it was only $1.60 for 6 - could hardly taste the itsy bitsy bit of meat within. How sad especially when this is supposed to be WANTON noodle...!! Oh well...

I really liked their burgers - even though the patty was a little dry - simply because they are different from the American-style burgers that I’m familiar with. Something different. Anyway, I love the ambiance of the place, love its service, love the choices of beer with names I can’t pronounce, love the interesting sauces - well, I’m definitely coming back for more.
