The place had a retro style decor with local style illustrations on the wall. Unlikely star of the show was Chef Joel's BBQ Pork Cheek; charred lightly to perfection and sliced to perfect thickness allowing each bite to have just the right amount of smokiness. Reminiscent of a really tender bakkwa. The mantou is also great if you order any saucy dishes. The other dishes were ok, but did not really stand out. Overall, still a nice dining experience, staff was attentive and friendly enough.
Ordered the Yasai Miso, Gyu Ponzu, Maguro Yukke, Satsuma-Age, Rosti Mentai and Oden. Enjoyed the Gyu Ponzu and Maguro Yukke the most. I'd probably give the Yasai Miso a miss the next time. The Oden was pretty average.
