I used to be crazy for Sushirowhen they had just opened its doors on our shores. I would dine here once almost every week. They offer really good affordable sushi, even better at Genki. They’ve got plates at $2.80/3.80/4.80 and also a good variety of cooked and side dishes. I’m always going for their fatty tuna!

I had tried it recently again since Phase 2 started and the seafood didn’t seem as fresh. Maybe they were having an off day or weren’t operating optimally due to COVID-19 restrictions or possibly because I dined in two hours before closing time (8pm at Isetan Scotts). I’ll probably try it again soon, just to check.

I’m so glad to finally be able to dining at my favourite hawker stalls.

One of my favourites, is the famous shredded chicken hor fun from Ah Liang Ipoh Hor Fun. The sauce is light with a tinge of a herbal taste that goes well with the silky smooth flat rice noodles. Also, ordering their plump fried fish nuggets is a must!

Grilled and smoked to perfection, this glistening hitsumabushi was absolutely scrumptious. Even after delivery, the rice and soup were still warm - perfect for today’s gloomy weather.

TOP grade seafood at an unbelievable price. Even as takeout, this bowl still felt and tasted fresh. I’m such a happy camper.

I can’t wait to have a proper omakase when phase 2 begins though.

The best burger I’ve had in Singapore.

This handful for a burger packs a definite punch. Within one bite of the Wagyu Txuleta Burger, I was hit with an assortment of flavours. The buns held its texture and did not get soggy despite the delivery time. And between them, they hold double patties of old cow wagyu smothered in glorious gooey melted cheese. Every order of the burger comes with a side of life-changing homemade thick fries. I’ll be counting down the days till I’ll be having this again.

A bowl of endorphins!

Just looking at this bowl takes all my problems away. It’s Ryo Sushi’s off-the-menu special don. I’m sure the ingredients change from day to day but the quality and freshness stays throughout.

When I asked Chef Roy what was inside, he just replied, “special things”. Well, it was indeed special because I gobbled it up within five minutes. Treacherous, I know. But if I’m not wrong and from a quick glance, there’s anago, crab stick, ebi, ikura, kinmedai, negitoro, otoro and uni, over a bed of seasoned Japanese rice. It’s pretty much an awesome omakase stuffed in a bowl.
