Underwhelming. Egg was mostly set, just a slight bit runny yolk. Chicken, although juicy throughout and had a lovely crispy skin, tasted pretty flat. It kind of reminded me of a more expensive KFC. Waffle was not fluffy and I sure wished it was..! The batter had a hint of maple syrup to it.
Come for the ambience, but (for me at least!), food is so-so.
Smack in between Beach road and Arab st, this eatery far exceeded expectations!
With pop culture movie memorabilia adorning its walls, a really cool signage reminiscent of old Western movie theatres framed an open kitchen. It was fun watching the chefs make our food!
The steak hit the spot. There was a lovely smoky taste (from the grill I believe) and done right - medium rare and evenly cooked throughout. The baked potato was perfect!
Wagyu burger was yum. Well toasted bun, medium rare patty, soft melty cheese. Fries was addictive!
Came on a Saturday afternoon and there was just one other table. would go back 💯
Unlikd your local hawker centre veg stall, Saute-san is a Western- Asian (Korean/Jap based on the menu!) fusion plant-based restaurant. Very generous portions for the dishes we ordered :)
Gotta admit the colours in my photo is not the best, but the flavours for both dishes was definitely there. The lion mane mala stir-fry packed a punch! It came with lots of pea sprouts (dou miao), some other veg, and a variety of mushrooms. Note: the picture shows half the portion - it came like a little mountain!
Ordered the lion mane black pepper cellophane noodles. It's actually the same noodles as in jap chae. Pretty good and wasn't too peppery.
Also has the salted egg yolk sauce nuggets as starters, not pictured. Salted egg sauce was just right. Nuggets were not oily, had a nice 'meaty' texture to it.
The restaurant was fairly packed when we rocked up about 7ish pm on a Friday. No service charge was a lovely touch!
10/10 loveee.
Fantastic coffee (topped up 50c for cold brew) and good service. Dropped by on a rainy Monday morning and it was just perfect.
Had the big breakfast. The little tater tots were just right, not oily although I believe it was deep fried. Bacon was done to perfection too.
Gashouse eggs may look unassuming, but don't underestimate it. Ordered it based on the other rave reviews and it sure did not disappoint! Bacon jam is great.
They offer sheltered outdoor seating too. Lots of good vibes in this lovely cafe!
Easily fading away amidst the yelling kids and the anxious parents, Deli's Kitchen is unassuming and cosy. There were a handful of tables in the restaurant and two outside. There wasn't a queue when we popped by on Saturday noon, despite it being on the same stretch as the popular Victor's Kitchen. Like recent reviews, there wasn't a separate burpple menu. Instead, a helpful and somewhat apologetic waiter pointing out the menu items that weren't included under Burpple Beyond- as stated in t&c, so no surprises there!
The gyu katsu don checked all the right boxes - crispy, juicy and pretty. Look. At. That. It's a work of art! It was done to perfection, rice was just right, and salad was good too.
That said, they offered a very extensive menu and everything else looked so good! Defo coming back to try something else.
