Good burger Soft shell crab burger @ $24+ Comes with choice of fries - we chose wasabi mayo The soft shell crab was a bit salty. The chilli crab sauce was not bad. Overall was ok, the egg in the burger alr burst when it was served. The wasabi mayo was quite spicy. Overall ok, but probably not worth $24.

Weekday Lunch Buffet Recently, I had lunch at Royale Mercure Bugis which runs from 12 pm to 2.30 pm, priced at $65++ per adult and $32.50++ per child. Dinner is $75++ and $37.50++ per child. The menu rotates daily so every visit feels fresh and you never quite know what surprise dishes will show up. Seafood on ice was a joy. The prawns were sweet, bouncy, and easy to peel with cutlery, which made them extra enjoyable without the mess. Squid leaned chewy, while blue swimmer crab and mussels rounded out the spread. The steamed tiger prawns in Chinese wine were fragrant and tender, and the steamed fish came out moist and clean tasting. The live station lamb cutlets were juicy and tender, with just the right bite. Slow roast beef was soft and hearty. Pork knuckle stew was fatty melt in the mouth goodness. Satay tasted smoky and authentic, duck and chicken were nicely spiced, and wonton noodles gave a comforting touch. French onion soup with parmesan toast was rich and satisfying. Desserts and drinks rounded off the meal well. Free flow coffee and tea, plus juices like orange and apple, kept things refreshing. Fruits that day were rock melon, watermelon, and dragonfruit, all sweet and juicy. Almond pudding with longan was silky, black forest cake rich, pear crumble homely, caramel custard smooth, and DIY muah chee fun to make. Hot cheng tng was a nostalgic sugary drink to finish with. Overall, the buffet gave me variety, freshness, and comfort. Delicious and cheap Food was delicious, especially for the price. Had the seafood bisque pasta and it came with a generous amount of seafood and the pasta absorbed the bisque flavour delightfully. Their drinks are also great, had their passionfruit drink.

Dinner at Long Black Cafe Excellent service and food. However, portion of food may not be sufficient for some. Restaurant serves early dinner too with nice ambience.

Duck Rillettes & Foie Gras In their Bar Snacks menu, the Duck Rillettes & Foie Gras (S$18.00) was three Szechuan pepper brioche with the mince. It was an awesome finger food because the buttery flavours seemed to pair really well with a glass of white wine.

good food and service used Burpple Beyond at this restaurant on a weekday evening. the food and service are good, the staff would clear our plates and serve the next dish efficiently. they were flexible to change the beef tartare to another dish (grilled octopus) as I do not take raw food. be careful of the charges of water though. we almost got charged $9 for a bottle of still water (the waiter opened the bottle too quickly) when normal warm water is complimentary. we feedback this to the staff when we received our bill and they were understanding about it.

Signature Torched Wagyu Beef Bowl Our go-to spot for gyudon that's better than casual options but cheaper than premium ones. How is their beef so fat? My only gripe is always the amount of rice.

Scallop Tomato Cream Pasta ($33++) Loved this dish! The scallops were well-seasoned and not at all rubbery. The tomato cream sauce was rich without being too heavy, and the radish slices added a refreshing crunch. Pasta could’ve been a little more al dente for my liking, but overall still satisfying. Would return just for this!

Baked Sea Perch ($29++) The plating was gorgeous, and the portion generous. The seabass fillet was nicely cooked with crispy skin, though I personally wished the skin was just a touch more salted to bring out the flavour. The added pieces of deep fried fish skin were unnecessary to me. Plus, it was not crispy. The asparagus was a great pairing—tender and fresh. The sauce had red pepper taste and more abundant than past reviews suggested (a win for pepper lovers!), but as someone who isn’t big on pepper, the strong infusion wasn’t to my taste. Caviar was alright—adds a nice touch visually, but don’t expect high-grade quality. Overall, a decent dish if you enjoy pepper-forward sauces.

LYCHEE OOLONG tried their Lychee Oolong💗 which is their new flavor. Both lychee and oolong is more of an after taste which i think they used lychee oolong tea to make the creme 🤔

CHICKEN BACON PIE Their Chicken Bacon Pie surprised me by how good it is💯 It’s meaty inside with cookie crust outside💗 served with salad as well 😋
