I love spicy and flavourful food, which is why the Thai cuisine is one of my favourites. Nakhon has always been my go to place for really good Thai food that is also good for the wallet! Haha. Terrific use of spices, well balanced flavours, fresh ingredients that will leave you coming back for more. It's hard to pick a favourite dish! But I always make sure I don't leave without ordering their Pandan Leaf Chicken!

Mon Bijou is definitely joining my list of favourite cafes in Singapore. And I've not even tried their mains yet! Which I definitely will because I'm planning a trip back. We had the Pate de fruits (mixed fruit tart), their signature Mango cake (with a coconut flakes exterior I presume) and their Raspberry Lychee Macaron. I'm pleased with them all!! ๐Ÿ˜๐Ÿ˜‹

Platypus Kitchen hardly ever disappoints. I've been dining there before they moved to the unit downstairs; first fell in love with their handmade pastas and beer cocktails before they introduced the gourmet bowls. This salmon ikura bowl came with this curious looking green bowl of liquid. It was such a strange colour, bright even, like the liquid you'd use in a chemistry experiment. Wasn't sure what I was supposed to do with it. Decided to pour it over the rice and boy was I glad I did that! The combination is amazing. Although this was good, I'd recommend their crustacean bowl though, it's even better! Should get a picture the next time I order it.

Created specially by Chef Nakahara who helms Terra for the Niigata Food and Flower Fair in Singapore, this dish is my favourite out of the entire omakase course ($128++) The botan ebi (raw shrimp) was SO FRESH and SO SWEET, oh goodness me. And the purple "things" you see are edible flower petals!! Now I can say that I've eaten a flower before hahaha. It was such a gloriously beautiful dish, the combination of everything you see here, especially with that sauce you see, BLEW MY MIND. ๐Ÿ˜‹๐Ÿ‡ฏ๐Ÿ‡ต

Brought to you by the very same people who gave us Yoogane in Singapore, you know it's gonna be good! ๐Ÿ˜‹ Singapore's first Andong Jjimdak restaurant and it certainly doesn't disappoint. I'm absolutely thrilled with the huge portion, and in love with the sweet potato noodles. I'd say go for the seafood jjimdak because it gives you the best of both worlds, chicken and seafood so you can try both! Had the chance to try the 4 varieties they offer at the food tasting and even their side dishes, which are pretty good too. I recommend the seafood pancake and the chicken karaage. Oh and you can get your maekkeoli (Korean rice wine) fix here too. ๐Ÿ˜‰

Called Ugly Sue but it tastes SO BEAUTIFUL my taste buds are in absolute bliss and joy every single time I have it.๐Ÿ’—๐Ÿ’“๐Ÿ’ž "Crumbly soft meringue filled with passionfruit mousse, rolled with strawberries, raspberries and blueberries." Your imagination would fail you if you're trying to imagine how this would taste like.

Times I wish Burpple would include Johor Bahru as well, aside from Kuala Lumpur since JB is more accessible for us. Hopefully in time to come! Sea & Saw is a cafe with a most beautiful aesthetic, inside and out. Hard to find really but worth the trouble. Almost every corner is Instagram worthy. The food however wasn't spectacular, not that it's bad though. It's alright, just that it doesn't blow you mind nor would you come back specifically for the food. But for the price (since the exchange rate is 3:1 now), I'm satisfied.

Here's a #flatlay of all the food we ate at the media food tasting session of the new lunch menu at #concordehotelsg that will be launched on Oct 1st, 2015. I absolutely loved the pan fried goose liver in mantou with sweet lychee sauce!! What a brilliant combination. That dish was definitely the stand out star for me. ๐Ÿ˜‹

I've always been a tea person, so my hunt for good tea is a never ending quest. Arteastiq's lychee tea is definitely one of the best I've tried. You have the option of having it hot or cold, I say go for the cold one because it really brings out the flavour - the sweetness of the lychee delightfully balanced by the fragrance of the tea. We tried the lemon meringue tart and the creme brรปlรฉe as well, they were alright. My best friend and I were surprised by the serving size of the creme brรปlรฉe though, we thought they served us a pot of soup by mistake haha.

Ever heard the saying that food tastes better when you eat it with your hands? Damn right it is. We weren't really sure how we were gonna eat it at first. From the bag? Do we pick the seafood that calls out most to us from the bag? But what if the one we really want is at the bottom of the bag? And then we realized that the tables around us emptied their bag's entire content onto the table. OHHH. That's really the best way to savour this beautiful and delectable mess of seafood goodness. ๐Ÿ˜Œ๐Ÿ˜Œ

The recipe/food videos on how to make a bacon and egg cup were all over social media, which really piqued my interest in trying one since I probably won't be making them myself. ๐Ÿ˜… Bacon and eggs are what I always look forward to at hotel breakfast buffets so I had high hopes for this. Was slightly disappointed by this one though because the texture of the yolk could have been runnier. But overall, quite a sinfully good way to start the day.
