** Situated on the “sports & travel” floor of Paragon, as with other muji stores, this cafe is tucked in a corner of the main store. It has really chill vibe, great music and the food was pretty good. Perfect for a solo mid week dinner after a grueling work day.

I chose the 3 deli set, which came with 1 hot deli, 2 cold deli, rice & soup. The hot deli that I decided on was the Salmon, Hijiki & Fennel Papilotte. While I decided on the omelette with mushroom & apple kale salad for the cold delis. All were delicious, especially the salmon. The soup was carrot cumin soup - not the best and I’d would have gone for the miso soup instead. For drinks, the ryukyu tea is actually chai so don’t get surprised like me if you order the next time.

** Came here with high hopes after reading that the salted plum on the hottest restaurant in Sg list by burpple. As we came on a Saturday, the place only serves ala carte dishes and we decided to order Burnt Chili Chicken, Brussels Sprouts and the Lu Rou. All three turned out to be really tasty but I did preferred the burnt chili chicken over other two. The Lu Rou (braised pork) was really tender and fatty - perfect to go with white rice while the brussels sprouts was a unique dish with the brussels sprouts cooked almost to a burnt state, yet still retaining its flavor. Drinks wise, order the thirst quenching salted plum juice for sure. Overall, worth coming again!

** I used to exclusively visit Chong Qing grilled fish whenever craving for mala but due to the dinner crowd, we decided to try out Manchurian Restaurant instead. Boy were we glad for our impatience this time round and the food turn out better than our old spot. The fish is flavorful and prefried to crispy before putting it into the Mala pot while the mutton were cooked to tender. Well marinated in the super flavorful mala broth, it was super delightful for a spice geek like me.

** Quick dinner around the apartment and came across this beef noodle place. Though it’s no where close to the ones we tried in Taiwan, but I’d say it’s not too bad. If you are there, skip the dry beef hor fun but go for the dry beef noodle or beef noodle soup. I preferred the beef ball over the sliced beef. One thing to kudos to is the chili - being a chili addict myself, that I’d give 4/5 stars. ———————————————

** Totally surprised by the tendon here. Each pieces of tempura are crispy on the outside, yet still retains the original flavor of the ingredients on the inside, and best of all, not too oily. Compared to Akimitsu, this is a clear winner for me. I’d say though that I wish I had ordered the vegetable tendon instead as the veggie tempura in the bowl are all above my expectation. Will be back!
