10/10 I had an incredible dining experience that started strong with the Garden City Sling. This cocktail was not only beautifully presented—with a dramatic touch of dry ice and orchid water—but it also tasted as lovely as it looked. The drink had a sweet, subtle flavour profile with floral notes, and the alcohol was perfectly balanced, enhancing rather than overpowering the experience. Easily a 10/10. For my main, I ordered the duck confit with foie gras, and it did not disappoint. The foie gras was expertly cooked—rich and creamy without being overly gamey—while the duck confit was tender, flavourful, and fell effortlessly off the bone. What truly tied the dish together was the mandarin orange salsa. Its tangy, slightly acidic profile cut through the richness beautifully, adding a fresh brightness to an already delicious plate. A beautifully balanced meal, both in taste and presentation. I’d definitely return.

Unforgettable experience! Hopscotch delivered an unforgettable experience! I had the black garlic ribeye steak with bone marrow butter — absolutely rich and flavorful. The Wish Upon a Lantern cocktail was a showstopper; they lit a flame on a paper-like material that burned in style, making drinking fun and theatrical. Also tried the Ice on Wheel cocktail, which was equally creative. The cozy, stylish interior added to the vibe. A must-visit spot for great food, drinks, and atmosphere!

Unagi w mentai tamago ($22), snow crab pasta ($15) Unagi was quite small in portion. Mentai tamago combi is 👌🏻. Snow crab pasta taste like chilli crab sauce w lots of meat

Ok food for price (1 for 1) Ordered unagi fried rice - portion is small, unagi not visible but taste of unagi is evident. Seafood pasta came abit wet tasted abit more home cooked than restaurant style. Thought the oyster comes together with the seafood pasta but they claimed they served wrongly (and told me only when I was making payment) - suspect they do this with all tables who didn’t hit the min spending. Then say out of goodwill will give a 15% off for the 1 raw oyster. Overall, nice ambience but poor business ethics, won’t recommend

Western Otah Cutlet Rice The portions were sufficient and after the promotions, it’s very worth it to come here.

Black Kut Teh Lion Mane Hotpot ($16.90) I use 1 for 1 burpple voucher for main dish to redeem. I opt out noodle for side dish. But I felt that not much "pepper" taste as opt out for less spicy in flavour. They give a lot of ingredients inside hotpot such as lettuce, fungi mushroom, lion mane, tofu and sliced carrots. I did enjoy the experience for mini hotpot while they cooked ingredients to the boil. Their you tiao was quite crispy and can dip into the soup broth.

Pesto pasta Not a fan of the pesto sauce, tastes too nutty and not really of Basil. Also not a fan of the mushroom used and it’s a little too thick. Just not a fan of this pasta — will probably order another dish next time. However, with burpple deal - got two mains for$20.65 which is a great deal. Food portion is on the small side too. Especially for the location of this place. Will come back

Slipper Lobster Pasta ($23.90) Burpple 1-for-1 Deal at ~$30 (with service & tax) The tomato base sauce was rather salty but portion substantial enough for me with 6-7 lobster chunks hidden under the blanket of grated cheese. Simple dish ingredients with some garlic, fine slivers of red onion and cherry tomatoes. The service was not bad: they helped me takeaway the Tom Yam seafood pasta, cooked/ served close to when I was leaving to ensure freshness! 😊👍🏻

Chili crab pasta & R65 cheeseburger Had the chili crab pasta and R65 cheeseburger, which we were able to claim the burpple beyond promotion. And thankfully able to, because I wouldn't spend the original price for the food we got. Both dishes were mediocre - chili crab pasta had not much of that chili crab oomph, and the cheeseburger was barely appetising, the party was not juicy and just felt like an overpriced Macs burger. Water was chargeable as well. We didn't bother to get drinks cause we barely wanted to spend an additional second and cent in this place.

1 for 1 deals from Route 65 Bar Order Seafood Tom Yam and lobster spaghetti, Fish and chips and Grill Pork Rib. The Portion is quite small for spaghetti (not really worth for $18.90), the fish and chips come with the bitter chips (1st and last try for this), the pork rib taste good and is one of the best among all the dishes we order. Overall portion quite small, don’t really have any surprises in taste, not really worth it if without 1 for 1 deals.

Not bad, reminiscent of a good laksa bowl! Dry Laksa ($18 1 for 1 with #burpplebeyond) - though the noodles were abit too soft, the sauce is thick and very flavourful, just like a good bowl of laksa. They gave 4 pretty huge prawns which were all plump and fresh! Not bad can try.

Pretty delicious Mentai Don! Salmon Mentai Don ($18 1 for 1 with #burpplebeyond) - mentaiko really can't go wrong and for this bowl they were pretty generous with the amount of sauce! As for the salmon pieces, it seems like it's lesser than that of Chirashi. I still love the rice in here! The onsen egg just pairs well with everything in here 😍

Chunky fresh pieces of sashimi, not bad Lecoq Chirashi ($16 1 for 1 with #burpplebeyond) - pretty generous with the sashimi ingredients, the sashimi pieces were fresh and chunky! I must say they gave alot of rice, but I ain't complaining because their rice were well seasoned and pretty darn addictive. Love the onsen egg as well, as it acts as a good medium to combine everything together!

First time at Suki-Ya KIN First time trying at Suki-Ya KIN’s hotpot… price point is average. Burpple deal not really worth but food wise taste ok. Choices are kinda limited, mostly beef options. If you prefer beef and looking for affordable pricing I think here will be a good place to try.

Beef chuck roll There is only the premium buffet now and was around $43 per pax before Burpple (~$34 with Burpple). Didn't really find it worth because the quality of the food was not great. The soup was not nice too, had to add lots of veggies to make it taste sweeter. The beef chuck roll was very gamey, would suggest to avoid it...

1-for-1 Main @ Brotzeit Rating: 8/10 ⭐️ Mains Ordered: - Chicken Schnitzel with Spatzle ($28) The portion was huge, and the schnitzel came with cranberry jam & lemon which was really good pairing! We replaced the side with Spatzle, and it initially tasted "bland" but it grew on us after a few mouths & was really good! - Pork Knucle with Rosti ($19) This was a little on the smaller side, but it was really good. The rosti felt a little oily after awhile, but it wasn't gelak (for sharing 2 pax). This dish came w mustard, good pairing w the pork knuckle! Overall Damage with burpple beyond: $32 (inclusive of GST & $2 for 2 refillable water) 😆 Overall: We enjoyed our meal & the service was great & felt welcoming :) The portion was just right for 2 pax, without making us feel too full or still starving after the meal. The 1-for-1 main w burpple beyond is worth it, will be back! 😊

Pork Knuckle Rösti with Kale | $18 My go-to at Bread time when I want something of a smaller portion and more balanced. Surprisingly the quality can vary quite a bit also depending on which cuts of meats you get, the level of charring and the amount of fibre. This time the fat:protein ratio was much higher.

One for one pasta Tried the mentaiko salmon carbonara with ebiko Love this pasta! The mentaiko and carbonara combination always work It feels a little Jelat but disappears so quickly when it’s shared. Tried their coffees as well — like the dirty sesame and iced latte. Spent around $80 for two sandwiches and two pasta (2 one for one deals) and 4 drinks so a great meal!

Chicken parmigiana One for one pasta — the portion is great. The taste is pretty average but the portion does make up for it.

Chicken schnitzel and cubano Chicken schnitzel and cubano: Such a good portion and cool plating. The sandwiches are great — portions are great and the sourdough base is soft.

Limited Selection 1-1 Burpple Deal Initially they told us that Burpple is applicable on all items in the menu, then they turned around and came to say it's not valid on the Donburi section, because they were having their own lunch promo on the Donburi. Wouldn't come if not for the Burpple deal on the Donburi for lunch, and then with the limitations I don't find that it's worth it after all.

Eggs Benedict Started 2024 with a promise to wake up early for breakfast every Sundays/PB holidays. No more lunch time sunday wake ups for this guy here. And eggs benedicts was of coz the most Atas of all breakfast to reward myself for waking up at 6am on New Year's day. Extra reward for waking up when it's raining too. Custard Chou Chou Basically an awesome Custard filled donut. They have a variety of French pastries here, and all look damn awesome. The chou chou is Sinful and a must have here at choupinette. Which are basically donuts.

3-Course Dinner \\ Escargot Clean, tender and juicy escargot cooked in garlic parsley butter then served warm. The garlicky sauce is almost as delicious as the escargot themselves! \\ Chicken Fricassee Pieces of chicken meat braised at low temperature with white cream sauce. Served with a side of potato gratin and salad. The chicken was breast meat hence they are a little tough in texture but the light and creamy sauce sort of compensates for the dryness. The rich and creamy potato gratin was good and I wished it came in a slightly bigger share. \\ Brownie with Vanilla Ice Cream Warm and nutty chocolate brownie with a scoop of vanilla ice cream. This dessert fell short of expectations. The size of the brownie is quite small in comparison with the scoop of ice cream. The ice cream was icier and lacks a creamy texture.
