Luxurious Saffron Gold A stunning plate of pasta, featuring dainty sheets majestically slicked with saffron gold — this glistening 𝗦𝘁𝗿𝗮𝗰𝗰𝗶 𝗔𝗶 𝗚𝗮𝗺𝗯𝗲𝗿𝗶 𝗘 𝗖𝗮𝗽𝗲𝘀𝗮𝗻𝘁𝗲 ($28) is probably one of their most popular items. Just as the sauce's tantalising saffron-infused hue hints at, this was liquid gold. A truly luxuriating cream sauce injected with the richness of prawns, scallops, and green peppercorn. One might be wary of how tediously heavy such a combination might turn out, but it was well balanced with just the right amount of creaminess and robust depth to be enjoyable. Mentaiko pasta lunch 27++ Idk if they have a lunch set but their lunch promo is that several of their ala carte items are 10-15% cheaper than during dinner This was mad delicious. The creamy mentaiko sauce was full of mentaiko umami, yet remaining very creamy and somehow light enough, not jelat. I don't usually have cream pastas but this, I couldn't help spooning over and over even after I was done w the pasta Pasta has bite but wasn't al dente. Ikura is bitter, not good But overall, I haven't had a better mentaiko pasta yet. Must try

Whipped bottarga 14++ Their menu is very confusing. Thank god the ala carte menu is available during lunch. The specials menu isn't consistent either, the scanned menu doesn't reflect what it shows on the handwritten board Food: The bagel was good, quite fluffy and quite well caramelised on the exterior The whipped bottarga was delicious. Good umami, there's a little bit of edge but it's forgivable

Beef Cheek Tagliatelle ($34) The braised beef almost melted-in-the-mouth, sauce was rich, rather heavy on the garlic but on the salty end of the spectrum which made it more filling.

Mayo Karaage Don + Unagi Don Very generous portions were given and the food tasted great! Was surprised to see the shop fairly empty on a Saturday night, but it’s definitely worth visiting especially with Burpple. The highballs were also well balanced, not too diluted nor too much.

Nikki Clear Black, Suntory Kakubin Highball ($13.50) Both drinks were fizzy and quite refreshing - a great accompaniment to our savoury rice bowls. It was a little bit diluted but otherwise was a standard highball. Do note that the drinks for the Burpple deal is only applicable for alcohol drinks. We visited on a weekday evening and it wasn’t too crowded although I did notice a fair amount of reservations in the indoor seating area. I actually preferred the outdoor seating, as the ambience was amazing, with the Japanese lanterns hanging at the top and all. Service was great too, the staff were very friendly.

Heartland Gem!!! V glad that this gem of an eating place is just around the corner of my house. Their menu is extensive - they don’t just sell hot dogs! I got their signature chicken frank and omg they did not disappoint. Their chilli con carne is a bit on the spicy level so beware! Gonna try their burgers and western dishes next!

Prawn ($5) & Mushroom ($4) Cheong Fun silky smooth cheong fun with a super generous amount of fillings 🤩 loved how the prawns were v fresh with a bouncy yet firm texture, which melded well with the tender rice rolls. the mushroom one was surprisingly good and packed alot of umami and earthiness from the mushrooms, super satisfying for a mushroom lover like me!! wished the sauce could be more savoury instead of sweet but it was easily balanced out by pairing the rolls w their housemade chilli!
