Stir Fried Noodles With Prawns This is like the Vietnamese version of char kway tiao or pad thai. It’s the first time we’ve ordered this out of our numerous visits because I’m a creature of habit. Hahaha. Anyway, this dish didn’t disappoint. The noodles were slick and nicely cooked, not too soft, hard or oily. They even have a slight hint of wok hei that we were not expecting. There’s quite a bit of ingredients tossed in, so you have a mix of prawns, crabstick, mushrooms, tau pok and eggs. While none of these are particularly unique, they work together to make this dish delicious. We also enjoyed the chilli served together with these noodles, which were actually spicier than I expected. They’re really good when eaten together with the noodles! While I have other favourites on the menu that I always turn to, this is one dish that I might consider from time to time! *The Orange Lantern (AND Harbourfront Centre) is FavePay-friendly! Sweet & Sour Fish Soup Sweet and tangy Vietnamese soup with sliced fish and lots of veggies! I love this soup, and there’s a decent amount of tender sliced fish in there. Note that there’s some chillies thrown in too, so some spoonfuls can cause choking especially if you inhale the chilli seeds. There’s ladies fingers, cherry tomatoes, bean sprouts and even pineapple cubes in the soup which I find unique. The pineapple cubes retain some crunchiness, and release a spurt of sweet juice when bitten into which goes so well with the soup. If you’re not a fan of ladies fingers, you might find their addition here a little offputting as they are really quite slimey. I personally don’t mind, as the slime is diluted by the soup anyway. This dish is always one of my go-tos :)

Summer Vegetable Roll ($6.40) We were figuring out the difference between this Roll and the Shrimp Rice Paper Wrap on the menu. Both come with Chef Recommendation symbols, but we decided to go with this out of curiosity as there was no accompanying description on the fillings. Turns out that unlike the Shrimp Rice Paper Wrap that was given a full page spread on the menu, the Summer Vegetable Roll comes loaded with not only vegetables, but with two proteins - shrimp and grilled chicken. I really love The Orange Lantern’s Vietnamese grilled chicken as it’s super tender and flavourful, so now that I know that this rice paper roll comes with it, it’s going to be a no-brainer ordering this. The vegetables and herbs in the wrap are all fresh and crisp. I love the refreshing basil and mint in the wrap. The prawn wasn’t really seasoned, but it was fresh and crunchy. The grilled chicken added another layer of flavour with its lemongrass seasoning, and I think that’s really what pulled this whole wrap together. My only complaint about these rice paper rolls is that the rice paper was super sticky which made it hard to separate the rolls from each other and the chopsticks without tearing the rice paper. Although this is an appetiser, it can also serve as a light meal for someone trying to eat healthy! The Orange Lantern is slightly pricey, but the food is good, so we keep coming back :)

For 1-for-1 Dessert (save ~$10) Inspired by time-tested recipes handed down from their grandmothers, the owners of Butter Studio are dedicated to honouring the tradition of crafting home-style bakes from scratch, and they’ve somehow managed to add a playful spin on some familiar favourites! This can be seen in their Gourmet Tarts which range from Sea Salt Nutella ($6.90) and Speculoos Cream Cheese ($6.90) to Raspberry Frangipane ($6.90) and Lemon Meringue ($7.90). Aside from these, they also come up with seasonal specials from time to time so be sure to pop by to see what’s bakin’.

Biscoff & Marble burnt cheesecake Biscoff Burnt Cheesecake was not bad. Cheesecake was creamy and the caramel topping on top goes well with the Cheesecake. Marble burnt cheesecake was not so good. And had difficulty finishing it, some how, it was dryer then the Biscoff. Quite worth it with the Beyond 1for1.

Butter Studio Cake And Ice Cream The milo brownie is cream is exactly what you expect. The biscoff burnt basque cheesecake was not bad, but the biscoff layering was a little too sweet in my opinion. Rating: 6

Green Curry Set ~$9 for the green curry chicken + rice + a drink! It was good. The green curry looks more yellow than green HAHA but tastes legit and also a comfortable level of spicy :”)

Pandan Chicken The chicken skin was so quite crunchy and felt so sinful. Yummy.. $2.50 each piece. Worth it as a additional side dish.

Red Curry Chicken Not too spicy. The curry was tasty and I finished every drop of it. Only negative I have is that the chicken breast meat is a little too hard. Will try with beef next time.

Worth Every Penny The prices are affordable and its worth every penny. This super delicious and highly recommended chicken lemongrass for $7.50 also bought the Phô 4A that consist of half-cooked steak,well done brisket, flank&meatballs for only $10 and the meat was super soft that it melts instantly in your mouth.

Pho 4A (Pho w the lot) Not sure why Burpple listed this viet restaurant as 'one of the best viet' places in Sg. It was not authentic at all. The place was run by indians (chefs and all). Ordered a beef pho, fried spring rolls and a longan drink. The pho skimped on beef slices and noodles. Soup just tasted like msg and water so i bloated severely afterwards. Spring rolls were stale. No crunch; skin was just chewy. Drink was refreshing though. Pls note cash payment only. Don't end up like me who had to trek 15mins to the nearest POSB ATM and then 15mins back to the restaurant because I was short $4. Don't waste your time coming here Pho Enthusiasts!

For a Simple Night Out Not many places get pho right, but as Pho 4 All focuses their efforts on perfecting it, you can count on them to get your pho fix. For $10, you get a bowl of flat rice noodles in a light flavourful broth, topped with tender slices of beef (or flank and beef balls if you wish). As usual, it comes with bean sprouts and basil on the side. Also order the cha gio, Vietnamese fried spring rolls stuffed with chicken and vegetables as the perfect sidekick to your pho. Located conveniently at Jalan Pisang, this is a great spot for a simple date night – it’s Halal-certified too!

Turkish Eggs We didnt know what we should order from penny uni tbh and literally scroll thru burrple. Decided to order turkish eggs ($14) but felt disappointed on soft boiled egg 😅 and my friend said sourdough bread slightly hard to chew thru. I literally removed spicy sauce from the dish as I didn't really take spicy lol.

Matcha Latte & Spiked Muddy I felt that matcha latte ($7.50) quite sweet (a bit matcha taste) and milky, need to shake it before drinking as matcha powder didn't just dissolved it off that fast. Someone suggested for spiked muddy ($7) and taste not bad and not that acidic taste for coffee.

Halal cafe with great service As for the Classic Eggs Ben, you can choose between smoked salmon or turkey ham (we highly recommend the salmon) to go with their poached eggs, hollandaise sauce and rosemary lemon sourdough. The poached egg was done to perfection and splitted gracefully when we cut it open. The hollandaise sauce was also sweet and umami, a perfect complement to the sourdough which may be otherwise hard to have on its own. What’s The Hype? It doesn’t taste Thai at all. Just normal beef noodles with Thai basil, chili flakes and vinegar chili. Beef was tender though and it’s halal!

5nett Portion + Beefballs 1nett Didnt know the 5$ portion didnt come with Beefballs. Its been so long since i was here; the last time i was here i havent used Burpple yet. Beef and tripe were super tender and flavourful as always. Because of that this is still my favourite place for thai beef Noodles. The tendons were cooked well too. Beef balls were fine but 2 beef balls for 1$ is a little steep. Really nice service too

Unique Dish Because Chill vibes, dishes come in big portions. This is the seafood platter but what’s unique is that I think they laid a bed of taro mash at the bottom? Anyway it goes really well with the seafood and in fact I dipped it with other dishes like fries, chicken cutlet etc

Beef Ribs Ribs is my Favourite so I have high expectation whenever I order them. This iteration from badoque didn't disappoint me. There ribs even though a teeny bit overcook it still taste great . Serving is quite generous.The bread surprisingly tasty when dip with the side of mashed creamy blended potatoes. Sgd $24 ( I think, 🤣 can't remember the exact price) Hot water is charged $1.00 served with slice of lemon.

Chili Chombis A must-have appetiser from Badoque is this Chili Chombis. What's hidden beneath these breaded nuggets is jalapeños with cream cheese and spices, giving you that kick before you get your main course. Pop it in your mouth before it turns cold, and unless you love jalapeños to the max, I will not advise you to finish the whole thing on your own. Thank goodness I have got my water ready for this.

Jumbo Platter We tried for the 1st time grab delivery for this awesome platter that we usually eat in Sofra restaurant itself. It’s so pretty even in a take-out! Fed so many of us at home! Love it!

Kunefe It looks so good but one must appreciate coconut to like this dessert. I liked it!

Diamond baklava My favourite Turkish dessert! So yummy!
