Does it live up to its name? Well, I think it does!
Chicken is slow-roasted until everything is juicy but roasted to a golden-brown. Meat is tender and falls off the bone! This is my favourite variant of the sauce; it’s rich creamy flavour complements the savoury nature of the meat. Definitely one of my favourite chicken dishes out there. .

First time trying this out for lunch and was pleasantly surprised! Just look at the size of that tempura. They pile it on top of rice and drizzle the whole bowl with sauce. Filling and tastes amazing. Just make sure you come early during lunch hour - the queue piles up very quickly! .

Generous portions of egg and freshly cooked! The tofu was a bit on the fried side - would have preferred a softer variant but the aroma was heavenly. They are known for their Bak Kuh Teh, but also serve up excellent zi char and claypot rice. .

Generously seasoned with lots of garlic, the lemon adds a nice zing to each bite! They just need to make sure the garlic is evenly cooked and this dish will be a light meal for lunch. .

First time coming here and was amazed by the melt-in-your-mouth meat! Wagyu beef, pork belly and kurobuta pork are particular favourites here. We also loved the scallops! They came with a dollop of butter on them which melted with a satisfying sizzle!
Service was impressive; they were very attentive and quick to serve / clear plates. .

I didn’t know there was a Taiwanese version of fish hor fun out there. Was this an attempt at localising the menu for the Singaporean palate? Whatever it is, the hor fun comes served with a generous portion of richly flavoured gravy and ‘wok hei’. Fish slices were okay but I would have preferred they use those freshly sliced fish instead of the slightly processed chunks you see here. Still satisfying on a cold rainy day!
They seem to be more well known for their Taiwanese desserts which I didn’t get the opportunity to try. For next time!

It even edges out some of the fish and chips options I had in the UK! The fish is firm, but not hard and it doesn’t have that ‘fishy’ smell or taste some fish and chips have. Huge portions, even with the standard serving so come prepared! .

Just look at those portions! I liked that they were generous with the rice, added a boiled egg and had decent chunks of tender mutton to top it off. Rice is well flavoured and curry added a gentle heat to each bite.
I have a weakness for good briyani and this definitely made the cut! - J

I teared up when I ate this.... from pain 😂😂😂. But thankfully, their thick and creamy Vanilla Milkshake ($5.90) is a godsend of a fire extinguisher.
The “Insane Hotness” level of the “Nashville Style Hot Chicken” here is an accurate label because the seasoning for that includes the “world’s hottest chili pepper” and it causes agony in all the soft parts of the mouth (when my tongue recovers, I might be able to talk about my experience but for now, I shall stick to typing 😝😅).
You should only get this if you can handle intense spiciness or if you are a true masochist. Otherwise, picking the “Mild” or “Extra” level for their CHIX HOT is probably wiser because you can enjoy their crispy-on-the-outside, juicy-on-the-inside goodness properly.
This Muslim-owned eatery also offers a saner “Original” style which is buttermilk fried chicken seasoned with their own take on New Orleans-inspired “Soul Spice”.
For the sides, you’ll be glad to know there are three available: “Bob’s Baked Beans”, “Creamy Tangy Slaw” and “Fries”, and they are priced at $2.90 each.
