Luxurious Saffron Gold A stunning plate of pasta, featuring dainty sheets majestically slicked with saffron gold — this glistening 𝗦𝘁𝗿𝗮𝗰𝗰𝗶 𝗔𝗶 𝗚𝗮𝗺𝗯𝗲𝗿𝗶 𝗘 𝗖𝗮𝗽𝗲𝘀𝗮𝗻𝘁𝗲 ($28) is probably one of their most popular items. Just as the sauce's tantalising saffron-infused hue hints at, this was liquid gold. A truly luxuriating cream sauce injected with the richness of prawns, scallops, and green peppercorn. One might be wary of how tediously heavy such a combination might turn out, but it was well balanced with just the right amount of creaminess and robust depth to be enjoyable. Hidden Western Gem Wanted to eat the claypot hokkien mee but it was closed. Was exploring around to explore this western stall which has a long history. I ordered the crispy chicken ($8.90) and I like it that it is thinly battered and chicken was moist. They also have free tartar sauce for you to take so it is good alternative other than chilli and tomato which is rare in a hawker. Toilet around the toilet was surprising clean too which is a first for a coffeeshop

Fish & Chips Have tried Master Chippy for so many years now. The fish is nicely fried and not too oily but the star of the dish are the fries!

Pacific Dory It's been a few years since I ate this fish & chips institution. I expected okay but the fish was really good! Fresh and plump. Conversely my sides were terrible. The mash tasted like those artificial ones and the rice was stupidly just plain white rice.

Pasta, Iberico pork, cauliflower The portion was on the smaller side but food tasted not bad! Not a lot of mains options.

Iberico Secreto ($26+ U.P.), Barramundi ($26+ U.P.), Roasted Cauliflower ($15+), Pita & Hummus ($12+, Not Pictured) Moosehead has been on my wish list to check out with girlfriends for a long time, a Saturday evening in 2022 was finally the right time. While our mains of barramundi and iberico secreto came in “dainty” portions fit for ladies, they were well handled and packed coordinating flavours with their condiments. Our sides of cauliflower and pita with hummus then kept us satiated. This is a place I’d return to for a causal alfresco sort of dining ambience with good food.

Good flavours Barramundi was ok with the sweet tomatoes but the fish was not the most fresh. only worth with burpple 1f1!

Spicy Tan Tan Tonkotsu Udon The Spicy Tan Tan Tonkotsu Udon ($12.90) features a rich and savory Tonkotsu broth with spicy sesame paste, minced meat, egg, kelp and udon noodles, drizzled in garlic oil. This is packed with so much flavour and absolutely delicious. Slurped all of this right down to the final drop!

Great service & food Had the Pork Udon with egg and rice with assorted tempura (Kakiage & Snow cream croquette). I like that they provide a few free condiments such as tempura bits & seaweed which you can add to your udon or rice like me to further enhance the meal. Being in a town area, the food here is affordable which explain the queue outside.

Black Garlic Tonkotsu Udon ($12.80) previously I didn't able to try it out but in ramen version. But it's much better than previous trip that I have tried it out. But I felt that their udon was quite hard and not that chewy texture in the past that they used have.

Signature Superior Soup ($10.90) I’m not sure when the price increased and the quality of ingredients decreased. The ingredients are no longer fresh, and so not justify the price tag. Thankfully the soup still retains its umami-ness. I liked it that they offered dry hor fun which was tasty, although I was rather put off by the server who asked me if I wanted less hor fun (I did, but it’s rude to ask, isn’t it?).

Lao Jiang Superior Soup Food is ok but counter staff is rude. Waited for than 5 min to just take an order when he was standing there doing his own stuff

Homemade Ngor Hiong ($8). 1-for-1 with Burpple Beyond! In addition to their nourishing soups, Lao Jiang has a variety of local delights that you could choose to complete your meal with. The meat was pretty well marinated with spices here, although a tad too salty. Might be a little overpriced as well considering the portion. 1f1 tasting portion Tried the lamb ragu and the mentaiko pasta. We chose the pumpkin Pasta with the ragu sauce but we felt another pasta would have went better with the rich sauce. I love the lamb sausage too with the feta. The mentaiko was nice as usual. We also tried the mushroom soup but it was pretty mid. Very worth work burpple deal!

Tiramisu ($8.90) Small and it was served just in a small container. The alcohol taste was quite strong and the mascarpone was sweet and creamy, but we couldn’t really taste the coffee in it. All in all, average and not memorable.

Ragu ($25.90) with Beetroot Lunghi I thought this would look better but the aesthetic was a bit lacking. The portion was also small and the beef was tough. The beef cubes were flavourful, but very tough (full of tendons that were very tough to bite). The sauce for this was quite watery too and didn’t stick to the beetroot Lunghi well.

Mentaiyaki Kaisendon ($18.90) Redeemed this with the Burpple Beyond Set deal and paid $38.49 for 2 mains, 2 drinks, 2 soups, 4 yakitoris, and 2 salads. Super worth it! The amount of mentaiko sauce was super generous and the sashimi was very fresh 🍣

Uni Pasta Pasta with uni, sakura ebi, ikura and truffle mushroom cream sauce. The uni was fresh and creamy which complemented very well with the al-dente truffle pasta. I like how the taste of truffle was prominent yet not too overpowering. Also not forgetting the sakura ebi that added crunch and the bursting flavours from the ikura 😍 》$47

Black Cod Soy Flaky and velvety baked black cod fillet coated with special soy marinated with slight hints of sweetness. The skin was crispy and the cod practically melts in the mouth with a rich and buttery texture 🤤 》$43

molten lava cake among all the desserts i’ve tried here, i think their molten lava cake was the best. cake had this oozing lava flowing out when being cut into. paired really well with the ice cream and it’s a sweet ending to a good meal
