Kaya Toast ($2.40) Yakun toast may no longer be $2.40 ala carte, but this one still is! Standards are a little inconsistent here tho, I’ve gotten limp and non-crispy toast before, but thankfully this time the toast was rather crisp and toasty. I like the kaya here - it’s pretty aromatic and is extra shiok with the butter bits spread throughout the toast. A satisfying breakfast!

French Toast 4nett/2pcs(Min Order) That whole area smells of charcoal but as you can tell here it isn't v charred so the charcoal smell was quite weak also The bread is rather hard but the jammy Kaya was delicious and the melting butter worked really well too, being abit saltier than normal

Matcha Tiramisu Not too sweet and it is not like the typical tiramisu

Prawns pasta The cream sauce is tasty which I like and not too thick

Fruit tea Nice fragrance

Cozy Izakaya experience Dropped by this cozy izakaya in the CBD for dinner the other night. Ordered a mix of udon, gyudon, and grilled squid, and everything was pretty satisfying. The grilled squid stole the show—it was tender, cooked just right, and had a nice natural sweetness. The gyudon was flavorful and well-made. The udon was decent but unique—thinner and flatter than the usual—best enjoyed with additional sides. Would recommend this place if you’re looking for a relaxed dinner spot with friends or a casual date night vibe.

New Fav Izakaya!! This was my first visit, and it’s now my go-to spot to satisfy my Kushiyaki cravings! The black pork collar and Tochigi Wagyu A4 are absolute standouts—juicy, flavorful, and irresistible, especially when paired with the sauce. Another favorite of mine is the mentaiko scallops; they were so good I had to hold myself back from ordering more because I was already so full! The food was amazing, and the service was impressively quick. Although I don’t drink alcohol, the staff enthusiastically shared their extensive sake selection, so it’s definitely a paradise for sake lovers!

Cozy restaurant, good food My partner and I had a pleasant experience here. Parmesan chizu chips are unique, good to share for about 3 pax. One of the freshest salmon sashimi I had, with a slight sweet aftertaste. Thank you for accommodating our request to change seats 🙏

Macnut (macademia nut, premium flavour) Really, really good. The macademia flavour is alr as strong as reasonably possible, and theres a lot of chunks of macademia Highly recommended I still want to try butterscotch miso and banana gelato

King alphonso Got to try this, nah it's not particularly good. Tastes like those artificial ones, even if they use real. Fruit

Ice Cream Waffle Seemed like a popular place. I can't fault the food but I'm not a fan of mochi waffle so I've mixed feelings.

1-1 waffle as what others have mentioned you don’t actually save $16 from the deal… but decided to try and got 2 waffles and 4 scoops of ice cream (~$30++). waffle portion is quite generous, thick and crispy. would recommend getting the dark chocolate ice cream.

The deal don’t match, don’t make the trip there. Went in and did not order. Checked with the staff and they indicated that the 1 for 1 deal is only for the waffles base from $8.50. Not those fancy waffles which are priced at around $15. Such misleading offer when the saving indicated for the 1 for 1 offer is stated ~$15. Atlas Afternoon Tea Finally checked out the Atlas Afternoon Tea ($65) which comes with a variety of sweet and savoury bites with your choice of tea / coffee / beverage. The interior is stunning and it looks like a scene from The Great Gatsby🤵🏻 The savoury items include: - Brioche with truffled egg and chives - Lobster on crystal bread - Vol-au-vent with smoked salmon rillette and kaluga caviar - Tomato basil arancini gougère with farmers bacon and comté - Rosatella espuma with shrimp The sweet items include: - Scones, jam and clotted cream - Banana almond eclair - French canelés - Popcorn custard ball - Ruby chocolate truffle - Pistachio cannoli mille-feuille - Madeleines The savoury bites are tasty and satisfying. The sweet items are pretty varied (i.e. not mostly cakes) and the French canelés are good. There is also a wide selection of tea to choose from and I really like the Muscat White tea, which is lightly fruity with a strong scent of honey. What an indulgent afternoon!

Afternoon tea ($64++) Comes with 2 drinks for each person. Top is sweet and bottom layer is savoury. Before the serve the tea set, there was this potato foam in a cup which is quite nice. There some hits and misses in the set. The best item would be the lobster choux.

Afternoon Tea 🍴DINE OUT🍴 📍ATLAS, Parkview Square📍 💸 Afternoon tea: $64 *Prices not inclusive of GST/Servvice Charge We've been wanting to try Atlas' afternoon tea since forever but it's so difficult to get a reservation🥺. Really lucky we managed to book a slot a few months in advance🙏! We really liked the pastries and desserts. Each had pretty unique flavour combinations that are different from the norm🍞. Usually for afternoon tea sets, there would be some items that are misses for us. But for this, all the items were pretty good🍮! Lovely selection of tea as well, we really enjoyed the Kukicha Green especially🍵. We'll be trying to book their Christmas afternoon tea next, hopefully we'll succeed!😄

Minestrone ($16) This was alright, nothing to fault but also nothing outstanding. Was chock full of ingredients and tasted quite clean but not bland.

Bread and Vinegar to start Their bread was also p nice! I think it was a tomato focaccia. Crisp but not dry, and a subtle tomato flavour And the vinegar!!!! Was soooo goood I was rly tempted to have more bread just to inhale more vinegar - it was thick and sticky with a beautiful flavour. Aged balsamic really hits different and I’m here for it.

Seasonal Special - Cod ($78) Quite possibly one of the most memorable fish dishes I’ve had of late. The cod was so meaty and firm yet tender, with a mildly creamy taste. It was lightly breaded such that it didn’t taste like a fried fish / greasy, with the moisture all locked in. I’m not sure what sauce it was, but it wasn’t very strong so it allowed the fish to shine. The mash potatoes were really creamy and smooth like a purée, was flavourful and not overly butter. Carrots were sweet, and beneath the fish lay a bed of mushrooms and spinach. TLDR: Was an excellent dish! Definitely formed a good impression of the restaurant and will come back to try other items if I feel like splurging~

Chicken Rosé Pasta 🍝Chicken Rosé Pasta ($10.50) Never had rosé pasta before and tbh I found that the sauce just tasted like diluted bolognese sauce without the meat chunks. Pretty meh, would get the other dishes over this.

Aglio Olio 🧄Aglio Olio ($10.50) Took a bite of my friend’s Aglio Olio, its a pretty standard plate of aglio olio with garlic and herbs. Nothing super outstanding, just a really solid plate of spaghetti.

Mac & Cheese 🧀Mac & Cheese ($10.90) I love a good Mac & Cheese and The Tree Cafe’s version is pretty good. The cream sauce is really savoury and kind of tastes a bit like mushroom soup imo, it generously covers all the macaroni. There are also some chicken chunks inside, not a lot but pretty ok for the price. Would get again!

Al ragu pappardelle ($25.80) - Al dente pasta, sauce was quite tasty but the depth of meaty flavour was absent. - Some parts of the beef chunks were a little tough and contained small amounts of tendon 🥩 [5/10]

Carbonara roma linguine ($26.80) - Having “pasta” in the restaurant name, it’s a shame the pasta was undercooked and hard. - Presentation was rather plain with only pasta and pancetta. - Sauce lacked in flavour and seasoning, even Pastamania can do better 🥲 [2/10]

Calamari fritto spaghetti ($26.80) - Interesting combi, calamari was crispy and chewy! - Tanginess of lemon butter sauce was barely present, could have stronger savouriness. [6/10]

Truffle Parmesan Fries 🍟 Truffle Parmesan Fries ($11.90) (6.3/10) These are basically normal fries lol they're even served with ketchup. Not worth the price, can't taste the truffle and the fries themselves werent of exceptional quality or anything.

Risotto Pancetta 🍳 Risotto Pancetta ($15.20) (8/10) My friend got this, it comes with a whole egg yolk. I found it to be creamier than the former risotto, but the taste isn't as cheesy imo. Still really good!

Risotto Caprese e Prosciutto Parma 🍛 Risotto Caprese e Prosciutto Parma ($17.80) (8.6/10) Comes with prosciutto and the ingredients of a caprese salad (tomatoes, mozzarella). The risotto is so creamy and full of flavour, tastes a lot like parmesan. It gets a but jelak afterwards but seriously good.
