Melts in your mouth sweet char siew & sio bak! What I like about #instavideo is that u can catch the hawker in action.
To say I was surprised to find such a good chendol in this tourist trap is an understatement. Of course, you can't compare it to the famous chendols across the causeway. But within Singapore, I think it is one of the better ones. For $2.80, you get a mini mountain of very finely shaved ice that's doused with decadently concentrated Gula Melaka and rich coconut milk. Dig in and you'll find cubes of green jelly and sweet, slightly mushy small red beans buried at the bottom.
Pulut Hitam Creme Brulee
Steamed Black Glutinous Rice with Creamy Creme Brulee, a mixture of texture in every moutful.
Chef Jimmy Chok's Creation.
It is presented in a colorful way with smoke from dry ice under the dish and surrounded with colorful flowers. Great dessert but a bit heavy to finish with.
Last course of the Mod-Local Noir Dinner.

๐ Especially if cooked as omelette or boiled and eaten with vinegar on bare hands! ๐คค
This stall in Chinatown Food Street makes, so far, my favourite Oyster Omelette. Moist yet has enough crispy parts which creates great texture to the palate. Deep into the chili sauce and ohh so shiok! ๐ (Improving in my use of Singlish term ehh?! ๐) #burpple #oysteromelette #chinatownfoodstreet
Craving for local delights? Make a bee line to Chinatown food street. The area transports people back to China, filled with rich heritage and delicious food. Soak in the atmosphere and let the tastebuds dance in celebration. The black carrot cake($4.50/6) is exceptionally delicious. The stall had won a well -deserved award for excellent culinary skills.
(Overcooked hard boil egg has a dark greenish ring. It's a reaction between sulfur and iron and forms ferrous sulfide) Most chain store don't have such perfect eggs but we discovered this branch does it nicely. However most people also know this branch charges more than other branches too. Happy Laksa-ing!
Dish cost $10, with salmon that is tad overcooked. But overall a good healthy meal. Wish it could be cheaper, closer to a food court price, but for a big salmon portion like that, guess it would be difficult to do business lah. Love the soba mixed up with special seasoning, would go again when i feel like splurging on everyday lunch.
Rasapura just introduced Good Ol' Taste to boast Singaporean dishes in a foodcourt setting. The 10-course meal comprises of Ng Sio Ah's Bak Kut Teh, Tong Fong Fatt's Hainanese Boneless Chicken Rice, Thye Hong's Hokkien Mee and Carrot Cake, Laksa, Huat Huat BBQ's Popiah and Satay, Song of India's Prata and Nasi Briyani, and Ice Kachang. It also comes with a choice of bottled water / tea / coffee. Of all the different dishes, I like the bak kut teh and the carrot cake the most, while the prata is rather underwhelming for my tastebuds. They put really a lot of effort into the details โ servers dressed in the Peranakan attire, old-school biscuits available for sale while waiting for our food, and the Peranakan-style disposable bowls. Locals might be rather skeptical about the food standard, but imo the flavours is pretty good and authentic. That being said, this is probably the only place that can give you an experience of having an authentic taste in a modern setting without being too heavy on the pocket.

Pork and Chicken skewered meats that can send satay lovers over the edge. The meat is juicy , slathered with flavourful Asian spices. Their peanut sauce contains grated pineapples ; tangy and thick, and a little spicy , but the satay here is too good on its own.
This pancake ($4.20) is crispy on the outside and the ingredients inside were of a generous serving. They serve the pancakes fresh and the combination of luncheon meat, cheese and egg was really delicious too!
With a western twist to the min jiang kueh, this shop has a cookie butter flavoured ($3) pancake. For someone who loves speculoos the pancake goes well and complements the speculoos too!
