there were ~45 ppl in the queue on a saturday and we queued for abt less than 30mins. quite generous with the ingredients and really tasty though overall on the oily and saltier side. we enjoyed the homemade beancurd but i think i prefer bainian for it’s lighter soup (iirc)
we were lucky enough to be seated nearest to the spectacular sunset that wednesday evening. ambience by the marina and sunset won our hearts from the get-go. coupled with good food and beer, it rly made the perfect date night. the primavera pizza was unexpectedly huge - we couldn’t finish, and like most couples that day, we asked for takeaway. it was tasty and value for money (even without beyond). the ravioli was cooked well and the bread texture was perfect. will definitely be back!

we had the braised pork and fried tofu bowls. loved the truffle egg - soft and creamy! fried tofu was rly soft as well, the light fry added an appetising crisp to it. roasted broccoli was tasty and braised pork was pretty average. portion could have been greater but was just nice for a smaller eater. was a plus that miso soup came with the bowls, but it was too salty for our liking. worth it with beyond.
our 2nd time here and we got the salmon & chicken thigh grain bowls this time. everything was well-cooked and rly value for money! we also got the 72% dark chocolate milk kefir soft serve as recommended by the young guy working there - an acquired taste but we enjoyed it! service was great as well. will be back!
burnt chilli chicken was nice, but the veggie was bad. $16.05 w dessert & drinks, worth it w burpple beyond. we didn’t like that the food was served in disposables even for dining in tho, what a major turn-off. @burpple pls extend the beyond deals!!
a tiny neighbourhood jaunt that i used to frequent a lot, but haven’t in a long while. stuck to my usual order of waffles with biscotti (premium, +80c) and earl grey ice cream (total $10.70). the biscotti is sweet but not too much and the earl grey is creamy yet fragrant. their ice cream never disappoints but the waffles seem to have dropped in standard in terms of taste, but the texture is still just right. will be back.
good for cheering kids (adults who hate dental) up before their dental appt at the polyclinic. pork could have been more tender but still a cute enjoyable meal.
we had the chicken pho & bun kho sets and topped up a dollar for their homemade drinks (worth! unless you are a soft drink person). the pho was a bit too salty and ordinary - we’d suggest giving it a miss. we enjoyed the bun kho which was flavourful. a small cosy place with a regular flow of customers tho with some annoying flies. would want to try their drip coffee on our next visit.
disclaimer: we’re both not ~brunch people~ so our reviews shldn’t be taken too seriously
can’t comment much on the all-in brekkie as we’re not a fan of oily food like bacon and sausage nor avocado..... but we just wanted something filling bc we were rly hungry. regardless, it was a basic dish. we liked the baked eggs cocotte, an appetising mix that’s not too filling and went well with the soft pita bread. the cold brews missed the mark for us (the white was too light and milky for our liking) but there are various factors when it comes to rating coffee so it is all very subjective. nonetheless, the main+cold brew 1-1 set made it worth for us.
small place, typical cafe atmosphere w indie pop music, but doesn't give off relaxing vibes maybe bc of the crowd/turnover and the average service.
our favourite was the stuffed roman schiacciata!! 😋 the porchetta was good too. we also ordered the rice suppli’ and porcini mushrooms in semolina crumbs which were unique. the assorted pizza was ordinary, however. the tagliolini had an asian flavour. iced latte was good. ambience wasn’t very fitting, would have been better if it was quieter.
somehow the menu was smaller than the usual - covid? so there was our first disappointment. settled for spaghetti & mushroom aglio olio as well as the fish and chips. mushrooms were juicy - great for mushroom lovers cuz the dish felt 40% mushrooms. fish & chips were ordinary. the coastes wings were tasty but a wee bit too sweet. wldn’t come back without the entertainer deal and if this menu remains.
tip: come early to secure seats by the beach
