Braised Pork Cheeky Bee Hoon ($7.80) Not unlike a firmer Maggi, the beehoon came in a sweet-savoury sauce, and the added spiciness packed just the right amount of heat to every bite. The crispy shallots added much needed crunch and flavour to the dish as well. However, the pieces of braised pork were the highlight of this meal - so tender and flavourful, this is what will draw me back whenever I'm in the area. Don't scoff at the accompanying soup too! I savoured every delicious drop of the rich and peppery broth.

Taiwan fusion Was brought by my friend for this Taiwan fusion. Food are generally nice and the restaurant was nice to give us a bigger portion of peanut and sesame ice cream at no extra charge. Value wise was not bad and worth it

Balsamic Vinegar Fries ($10) The fries are drizzled in sticky balsamic vinegar sauce - have not tried this combination previously and it is not bad. Pretty addictive.

Bacon Cabbage ($10.90) The stir-fried cabbage with bacon has so much wok hei and a drizzle of chili oil gives this dish a little boost - love this too.

Burrata Di Puglia ($15+) For Mother’s Day the chosen location was Habibi-San for I knew our empress dowager, who loves tapas after our brief travel experience in Barcelona, would also love these Middle Eastern-Japanese fusion small and big plates concept. The family easily declared that this was one of the best meals we’ve had in SG so far for 2021. Warranted that it has only been half a year but that stunning iberico main would be hard to contend against. One bite and I commented “I’ve haven’t had such good iberico pork in a very long time”. Declaring the main show first shouldn’t discount the fun delicious array of small plates that you’d need rounds (emphasis on the plural) of pita for. We shared the babagnosh, chickpea hummus, Mentaiko taramasalata, burrata and Brussels sprout. Each spectacular in its own right and something home-cooks can forget about recreating. Im specially mentioning the Brussels sprout as I had a benchmark version from Nassim Hill Bistro; when I thought this greens couldn’t be done any better Habibi-san’s version surprises with Japanese elements like kinnogomadre and bonito. Concluding - a meal at Habibi-San felt paradoxically rustic yet grandiose; don’t let the casual setting fool you for the food here was real fine.

Bespoke Cocktail As Habibi-san shares a space with Bar Stories, get your bespoke cocktails to pair with the delish food here! This was based on G’s favourite Old Fashioned description of whisky based and something citrusy. Scotch whisky-based, with hibiscus, refreshing yuzu and lemongrass; the layer of foam was citrusy, and the little dried orange crunch on the side was a pleasant surprise to bite into!

Grilled Pigeon [✨Modern Steakhouse✨] Located at Duxton Hill, Beast Bar & Restaurant is helmed by the same team behind WKDCUTS. We had the binchotan-grilled pigeon which is not common to find in Singapore. The dish is served with Japanese leek, hummus and corn. Found this too gamey for my liking, but if you’re someone who fancies gamey meats then this one is for you!

Live Pacific Oysters Freshly shucked, these plump oysters are served with ponzo, kimchi and avruga caviar 🦪

Smoked Tuna Tataki Also tried this beautifully plated tuna tataki with foie gras terrine, aji amarillo and hazelnut. The smoky foie gras combined with the flavourful sauce was 👌✨

San Lou Beehoon Last but not least, this is definitely the main star on the menu here. As everyone would familiar when you hear about San Low, which famous for the representation of this deep fried dry beehoon.

White Pepper Crab They have a great reviews about their crab dishes here. I enjoyed much of this spicy flavour of crab cooked with white pepper.

British Dining After seeing Zermatt video of eating lad & co. Decided to give it a try. Ordered the large fish & chip and scotch egg. The fish is delicious as it did not use dory but haddock. Scotch egg is also runny and the skin is crispy. Will not mind coming again

Classic Fish & Chips (L) | $29 Before you is the large portion of the classic fish & chips at Lad & Co, a hidden gem opposite Tanglin Mall that has sheltered outdoor seating with a cozy, laid back vibe. The regular portion costs $19, which I believe both portions are well worth the price for the quality of fish & chips delivered. The haddock was fresh, with tenderness in every bite yet not disintegrating into measly pieces before your eyes. The beer batter was a crisp, thin, layer, which made every mouthful so delightful! You get a choice of classic thick cut fries or thin fries with your fish, and I went for the unorthodox thin fries that came well-seasoned. They go British all the way by having mushy peas on the side. I guess the only downside was the tartar sauce, which leaned towards an ordinary mayonnaise more than anything. Would have loved more relish in all the creaminess. That being said, I now have a new favorite go-to for fish & chips! Rate:🌟🌟🌟🌟

Probably one of the best Fish & Chips in SG! Always wanted to visit and the recent opening of the Orchard Boulevard MRT made visiting the Tanglin area so much more convenient. Had the Fish & Chips (Large, $29) and Bangers & Mash (Small, $16) which were just sufficient for 3 hungry bellies. The beer-battered haddock were huge and amazingly crispy. Personally, not my favourite type of fish in fish&chips but overall I still enjoyed it. Special mention to the accompanying chips and mushy peas which were OH SO GOOD. Don't think I tasted this level of mushy peas outside of UK before. For the bangers&mash, sausages was meaty and chunky but the sauce was the star of the show - it tied the dish together nicely. Outdoor seating but the multitude of fans and greenery made the sheltered alfresco area so cooling and comfortable. Great vibes to just chill and drink the day away with their all-day $9.90 drinks - Peroni beer, Hendricks G&T, and Monkey Shoulder Highball. Only GST and no SVC, no frills bar grub. A complimentary glass of Raspberry Slush (I think?) was also given to my table in lieu of Christmas season so that was great. Only negative was that when I asked for 3 sharing plates/containers (for my party of three), the staff pointedly questioned how many diners there were on my table. Understand the intention but still, slightly rude.

Fish & Chips ($19.90) can choose between original thick out (my friend choose as felt that it's quite less crispy and more crunchy aftertaste) or battered thin cut (i choose as felt that its quite more crispy and crunchy aftertaste) for Chips (French Fries) choose 2 condiments (sauce) (we use mushy peas - still ok, tartar sauce - creamy but i dont like and curry sauce - similar to m** texture). I felt that their batter was quite thick texture and barely see the fish filling. It kinda normal for f&b people double dipped on the batter inside to sell and show supposed what it look. The haddock fish fillet was not "fishy" taste as I thought it of. Onion Rings ($7.90) its quite more crispy and crunchy aftertaste as its freshly made to cook from the order. oh yea i forgot to mention about 15% off for grab dine in at there.

Scotch Egg (SGD $12) @ Lad & Dad. This is a delicious appetizer. Over a bed of crunchy purple cabbage, is a large wobbly soft whole pickled egg, enveloped with tender minced pork sausage meat, and coated in a crisp golden-brown panko breadcrumb crust. . Bite in, and you're rewarded with lovely meaty savoury salty eggy sweet bready flavours. Rather addictive, we kept reaching for more. . . . Nori Taco ($14++) Can mix and match the flavours with an additional top up of $2 for soft shelled crab. I love that the nori was so crispy. If you cant take spice, better to ask them not to put wasabi. Would definitely order this again. It's hard to find sushi taco elsewhere.

Sake Mentaiko Maki ($22++) Total 8pcs of sushi with abundance of tobiko. Inside also has egg, cucumber and avocado. The sashimi was fresh and they gave abundance of tobiko.

Tempura Teishoku ($27++) I love the ambience here. This dish is from their weekday set lunch menu. The nori taco was superb and the nori was still very crispy. The crabmeat beancurd was very interesting. It comes with slightly spicy century egg sauce. The vegetables tempura includes sweet potato, capsicum and mushroom. The whole set was very nice and the flavours complement very well. I would recommend this place!
