There are indeed plentiful places for cakes around but let’s talk about some good ol’ fashion granny cakes, absolutely “a piece of cake” 🤪 •

Giving it an extra touch of love and home made feels, these cakes here are simply light, yummy and ain’t covered with cream or anything too fancy, allowing every bite to live up to its name (flavor) •

The Blueberry Almond exceeded expectation with such generous amount of actual fresh blueberry bits, their take on the classic Victoria Spongecake with raspberry jam sandwiched in between had the perfect buttery layers and every chosen cake were not too sweet 🍰💯 •

It’s a very down to earth cake haven tucked in Happy Mansion, cozy for cakes and a cuppa anytime of the day #highlyRAEted •

Truly a treasure for an inexpensive and sensational Thai street food that features fresh and effortlessly tasty seafood • The top 2 must try (IMO): Soft Cooked Crab - Serving legit (shell-less) crab chunks combined with runny omelette brought out the flavor of both ingredients yet keeping the aromatic taste from the crab.

Fried Shrimp with Garlic - A strong promising taste of toasted garlic and satisfactory prawns size that most definitely would not cheat your feelings •

Located over a canal (wasn’t much of a stench with the open air cooking going on), this street food stall gets crowded, up to 2 hours wait sometimes apparently - we were lucky it wasn’t peak hour when we arrived 🙈 FYI they have English menu ;) •

Drive thru a narrow metal bridge above passing water where an unconventional restaurant hides beside to a river surrounded by greens, quite a serene location and definitely reasonably priced • Since Bentong raves about delivering its famous Patin fish, I simply couldn’t miss that out before leaving Bentong.

Along with a boss-recommended Curry Wild Boar which was extremely tender and has such a thick gravy that hits the spot just nice •

Now this Patin here lives up to expectation with its “silk-like” & tender meat. The best way to enjoy it is none other than - soy sauce based steamed Patin topped with Bentong ginger 💯 •

Another pride Bentong holds includes the fresh Passion Fruit made into juice, fresh daily. Perfect to finish off a heavy meal as a dessert 😛😉 •

It now feels like it’s been ages since my last getaway from the city 😢 •
