Christmas may be over, but I'm glad Columbus has this on their menu for days I crave a good peppermint hot chocolate. Their version is one of my current favourites - the peppermint and chocolate balance was great and the little marshmallows make the experience so much more enjoyable 😋

Never had saybons before, and this first experience was definitely positive! Shared the tomato salmon risotto and a salad with a friend. Taste-wise this wasn't too heavy or tangy, and I liked that they were generous with the salmon.

If you're ever at mitzo, get one of these! (We had four each 😅) With so much other food from the brunch buffet, I'm glad I saved space for this oozy milk goodness. Eat it while it's warm!

Wasn't expecting much from this but boy was I surprised! Generous serving of chicken, well-coated with salted egg without being too overpowering, and so reasonably priced. My new go-to if I'm in the Sim Lim / Rochor area. Try it if you're around the area!

For a local option in the hipster Tiong Bahru area, Sam Yat Coffee offers local favourites like kaya toast sets, curry chicken, traditional kopi / teh, but also modern likes such as bingsu, lemongrass tea, etc.

Coffee is freshly brewed, and their kopi o kosong had a nice bitter taste. Most of all, it's a great place to escape the heat (it's air-conditioned)!

My table loved this dish so much we nearly ordered another! 😅 I never had gnocchi before this, and really liked the chewy and smooth texture of the potato dumplings. The creaminess might be a bit too much for some, so I'd recommend ordering this to share in addition the great pizzas they've got.

I liked that the rosti tasted freshly made, and it went well with the sour cream and scallions. Everything felt a tad bit oily towards the end, but it's a nice change from my usual order of the wild rocket burger!

Coffee is always freshly made, served in a hot cup, and the proportion of coffee to water, evaporated milk and sugar is consistent no matter which outlet I go.

Fresh berries, homemade strawberry jam, passionfruit coulis, meringue, whipped cream & chia and sunflower seeds on pancakes = yummm 😋

Pancakes were done really well, and the size was perfect for a not-too-heavy brunch. Sourness of the berries and jam went wonderfully with the sweetness of the meringue and cream.

I'm usually not drawn to vegetarian food, but this is one dish I always go for if I'm at Serangoon Garden market in the morning. It's exactly what I like for my breakfast - light, non-greasy and goes well with a cup of kopi o kosong :)

Ice Edge was bustling with a diners on a Friday, and it's hardly a surprise since they've 1-for-1 on a quite a few menu items! There's also an extensive range of gelato options. We chose the Belgian Chocolate and Passionfruit Mango gelato for our waffles, and I really liked the tangy fruity flavour of the Mango Passionfruit. The waffles were also fresh and crispy. A good place for dessert with friends!
