What makes them different from the rest is their free-flow mantou and prawn paste chicken wings, two items we constantly topped up at our table. They also have a laksa soup base that is a must-order! ~

We had an enjoyable time making our own dishes at 5 DIY stations, namely laksa, rojak, mee siam, kueh pie tee and chendol stations. A variety of Peranakan dishes including Nonya Chap Chye, Ayam Bua Keluak and Beef Rendang was also available! ~

We got a Curry Crunch Box ($9.50) that came with fries, whipped potato, Crispy Tenders, and a mango peach drink. The chicken was exceptionally crispy, and every bite was filled with an aromatic curry flavour!
Some of our favorites include Chirashi Don ($26.80++) with extra thick slices of sashimi as well as Unagi Mentai Maki ($16.80++), which is their newest item on their menu! They’re having a promo in the month of May where your mum can get a set meal at 50% off if you pay the bill! ~

The best thing is, their Bara Chirashi Don is going at $12.80 NETT. No surprise that this highly-raved and wallet-friendly dish is the most popular on the menu! If you’re not a fan of sashimi, give their Glazed Duck Don with Onsen Egg ($14.80) a go.

Yes you heard us right, a chicken set on fire. We also tried their De’Beer Speciality Fried “La La” Bee Hoon ($18 for 500g, $34 for 1kg) where each spoonful was packed with a garlicky clammy sweetness, and finished off with a slight heat of ginger. ~

Shake Mee has a shake-to-mix concept and offers “kawaii” portions of pan mee and kolo mee! We recommend Chilli Pan Mee ($3.30), which was filled to the brim with noodles, anchovies, minced meat, kai lan, and an onsen egg.

This restaurant near the zoo serves dishes such as Sliced Sotong With Salted Egg ($15/$25/$35), which is a must-try if you like salted egg yolk dishes. For those who can’t get enough of fried rice with wok hei, try their Salted Fish Fried Rice ($4.50). One plate is enough to fill 2 to 3 people! ~

Other than bara chirashi don, the set also comes with a clear bonito broth, miso soup, and mizu shingen (water mochi). A meal we’d definitely come back for! ~

The best part is, it’s only $2.50! Another dish that we recommend would be the Intestine Mee Sua ($3.50).
