4 Colour Set I don't usually eat KBBQs, but decided to pop by 8 Korean BBQ for Chope's June Exclusive Menu. For $88++, we got a 4 Colours Set (u.p. $68) inclusive of a choice of stew. We opted for the Army Stew (u.p. add-on $6). The pork belly came in huge slabs which the staff helped to cook and cut into bite sized pieces. We liked the Miso flavour the most out of the four we chose, the others being Herb, Garlic, and Kalbi. As for the Army Stew, it was decent but nothing outstanding. Lots of ingredients like kimchi, luncheon meat, and chicken pieces inside though. There were also Jumeokbap (u.p. $9), Kimchi Corn Cheese (u.p. $16), and 3 drinks (u.p. $2 each). Overall a hearty meal and we were more than satisfied.

𝟖 𝐂𝐨𝐥𝐨𝐮𝐫𝐬 𝐒𝐞𝐭 ($𝟗𝟖), 𝐊𝐢𝐦𝐜𝐡𝐢 𝐏𝐚𝐧𝐜𝐚𝐤𝐞 ($𝟐𝟖) 𝐚𝐧𝐝 𝐀𝐫𝐦𝐲 𝐒𝐭𝐞𝐰 ($𝟐𝟒) What a glorious KBBQ meal i had at 8korean a while ago! Finally visited and saw what the hype was all about!! We got their signature 8 colours set (which was pork belly set of 8 different flavours - original, garlic, herb, red pepper, wine, curry and miso). Honestly, halfway into the meal i couldn’t tell which flavour was what - there wasnt any explanation by the staff too so all based on feels and guesses!! Certain flavours shone more than the others like garlic and red pepper. While the rest did taste different from each other, I couldn’t really recognise the flavours too. BUT was an experience!! Portion was rather little though - each row (as pictured) = one flavour! Special shoutout to the BANCHAN especially the freeflow kimchi that was grilled :”) Also, the staff helped with all the cooking which was LOVELY. I loved the kimchi pancake so much!!!!!!!! The edges were EXTRA crispy and the pancake itself was chewy with the crunchiness of the kimchi itself :9 One of the best pancakes… really… (apologies for kimchi pancake photo - too eager to eat anyhow take photo) We ordered army stew too, which i remembered it to be really good as well (perhaps didn’t stand out as much as the pork and pancake) but the broth was comforting with a kick, coupled with the chewy ramen noodles to accompany our meal.

8-Colour Set The 8-Colour Set ($98) from 8 Korean BBQ comes with pork belly in 8 different flavours (i.e. original, wine, ginseng, garlic, herb, curry, miso, red pepper), a stew of your choice and side dishes. The different flavours are not that distinct but nonetheless, the pork belly is quite delicious! The ratio of fat and meat is balanced, and the pork belly is slightly crisp on the outside and tender on the inside. The tangy grilled kimchi helps keep the greasiness of the pork belly at bay. The Seafood Soft Tofu Stew (top up $6) is slightly spicy and pretty flavourful as well. Even without rice, this set is super filling for 3 pax! Festive set ($198) Treat yourself and your friends and family to Seorae’s latest Festive set featuring 𝟵𝟮𝟬𝗴 𝗼𝗳 𝗺𝗲𝗮𝘁! The pork set goes for $188 while ours had mix of pork jowl (Hanjeongsal), chicken Dakgalbi, oyster blade, and beef skirt (Galmaegisal). The set also included a delicious crispy pancake loaded with prawns and squid, choice of hearty soup, and an alcohol tower. Seorae Korean BBQ 4⭐ Managed to book the 50% slot again so here we are. We ordered 3 flavour of galmaegisal this round as we just wanted to eat this cut. I have not seen other Korean BBQ selling this cut in SG so far. We love this cut bcos it's lean and yet tender. For Affordable Mookata in Geylang Unlike other coffeeshops where mookata is the only offering in the night, Golden Mookata shares the spotlight with a couple of other stalls (get the affordable beer tower from the drinks stall!). This makes it good for big group dinners where not everyone wants to have grilled meats. That said, almost every table inadvertently orders it thanks to its affordability and tasty ingredients. Share an appetiser of Crispy Golden Thai Pork Belly ($15) — freshly fried slices of fatty pork belly that Burppler Shaowei Ho loves to dunk in the spicy sauce! For the mookata, the Special Set for Two ($22) that comes with chicken, pork, seafood and vegetables is a good start. Mookata-ing in a coffeeshop Having been abroad for almost the last decade, this was my first mookata experience (or at least the only one I can recall), and I'm pretty sure it's not going to be my last. Golden Mookata is located in a corner coffee shop and serves up yummy cuts of meat, seafood and even "bak kwa" for you to grill at affordable prices! We ordered the "Special Set for 2" ($22) which included garlic chicken thighs, marinated chicken thighs and pork belly, black tiger prawns, mussels and a whole bunch of sides with vegetables. Don't forget to order the "Special Golden Bak Kwa" ($4) that will make your broth slightly sweet and oh-so flavorful, and the "Crispy Golden Thai Pork Belly" ($15) to enjoy as you wait for your items to cook!

Crispy Golden Thai Pork Belly It's almost impossible to resist ordering this when the menu puts "most popular", "crispy" and "pork belly" all for just one item. Also since it's cooked already, it's a pretty good thing to have so you can snack on as your mookata items get cooked. For $15, I felt it was slightly towards the pricey side. But once you have taken a piece, dunk it into that spicy sauce and start that party in your mouth... it's all worth it!

came here specifically for the Half Half Pancake I loved that I could try both kimchi & seafood pancakes at once. There’s a lot of batter but it’s loaded with ingredients so it wasn’t too starchy!

Go to bbq place Fave spot that transports us to Korea. All the fare is delicious, from army stew to their bbq meats, to the pajeon. Love the free flow sides and barley tea as always. We got a corner and it was pretty hot. ($155 for 4)

Freshly brewed coffee in the neighbourhood Enjoy a cuppa coffee at this quaint cafe in Queenstown, made all the more cosy with its wood furnishings. Loved both their white cold brew and cafe latte.

Mazesoba 13.90++ There is medium or large sizes to choose from. This is medium portion and I have to say it’s a very delicious and filling bowl of noodles for me especially after having one of the hard boiled free flow egg as well. The savoury gravy and aburi cubed char siew mixed together with the crunchiness from the shimeiji mushrooms and the chewiness from the soba really makes this a very pleasurable bowl to devour with all the different textures playing with each mouthful. Will have to come back for it again.

Mazesoba ($13.90) With limited time specials like cashew-based dan dan noodles, this Japanese ramen shop that is located at Alexandra Central Mall (right beside IKEA Alexandra) also offers free unlimited boiled eggs 🍳 Stumbled upon this place and decided to satisfy our mazesoba cravings here! The creamy mazesoba is served with char siu, fresh mushroom, onsen egg, seaweed and spring onions 🍜 Accompanying is a clear peppery bowl of soup that has a surprisingly creamy taste. This surely hit the spot for me! Don’t forget to add in the garlic chips and a dash of chicken oil/soy sauce for extra flavour ✨ Would try their ramen when I’m back!

Houjicha Shiratama Parfait ($7.50) | Houjicha Chiffon Cake Parfait ($7.80) The houjicha soft serve is easily one of my favourites with just the right amount of sweetness. Between the two, I preferred the Chiffon Cake Parfait. The matcha chiffon cake was very fluffy and light on the palate without overpowering the houjicha soft serve! The Shiramata Parfait was nice as well, with a very generous amount of mochi with kinako powder. Bought these with the one for one offer, so it was really worth it! But the portions could have been bigger for $7.50

Iced Houjicha Latte Hard to get a good cuppa . However this is one of the rare ones which I adore alot as there isn't any bitter aftertaste to it unlike the one from Starbucks
