Abit pickier mood, so the cons are:
No him, no chilli, no wok hei. But I guess the first 2 can request...
Still good value for money, big portion and very comfortable air-con ambience, all in with teh just $8!

Does the picture show the roast pork is not much to mention? Dry and not crispy...pity because everyone's making better and better crackling roast pork out there...Duck was decent tho!
The crispiness of the skin while keeping the fresh taste of fish meat is the key to this dish! The sauce is secondary, would go well w sambal, soy sauce, etc.
Ah Kong Den has expanded their menu recently as they solidify their position as a full f&b establishment (used to just be a local cafe like ya kun) and now they have this hokkien mee ($8 for set which comes w kopi, teh or lemon tea) which is surprisingly decent. Its the wetter kind which I like, and the head chef fly effort to prepare this plate individually (maybe because no other customers during late lunch hour) and it comes served on fragrant leaf too, great presentation to whet my appetite! Serving is very big, $8 seems much for hokkien mee but serving and drink included plus the good service and presentation in the air-con eatery with sofa seating makes it worth it IMO!
Claypot goodness! Trio of ingredients: goose feet, shiitake mushrooms and broccoli
Premium dish but the flavour could have been greater if braised abit longer
I never knew so many ppl want to eat hot pot during lunch! Hot pot is one of my fav cuisines and there was actually a q during lunch, incredible :)
This one is abit pricey, worked out to be $36 per pax even though we only ate for an hour (lunch) and didn't over order
Pleasant surprise when the salted egg yolk fish skin (increasingly common) came with ba hu toppings! The huge pieces of fish skin also made the experience more enjoyable and crackin' (pun intended), instead of the usual pathetic thin small pieces that is like what u can buy in packet form at supermarkets and 7-11 nowadays.
Crikey! Exotic foods in SG are the best
In my limited experience, the best ayam penyet because of its not too dry smash friend chicken, is sweet and spicy sambal, and the game-changer - chicken flavoured rice instead of the usual white rice :D
I did not know that mama noodle = maggi mee and I paid 13$ for maggi mee. But it was not not worth it...claypot and all
