Quite an average/below average pie? Liked that the chocolate layer was rich and definitely didnโt have the gross cheap chocolate taste, but didnโt quite like the random black forest layer they added below and the crust was dry (not in a good way). But definitely try their crumbles and mains here instead!
Everyone recommended this sandwich and actually really liked it too!! ๐ฅฐ๐ฅฐ Definitely a very Asian taste for a very Western looking sandwich, and wow this is probably the maximum anyone can stuff into a sandwich?? Packed with chicken, bacon, fried egg and cheese, this multi-level goodness really brought all the flavours together nicely though it was pretty hard and messy to eat (but I guess thatโs also what makes a satisfying sandwich)! Salad on the side was really plain, but definitely recommend their sandwich ๐๐ป๐๐ป
Liked the generosity in ingredients in their sandwiches thatโs packed with health and nutrients! But only gripe is that their sandwiches are more on the dry side, and each individual component doesnโt quite blend together... But still a decent option for a light lunch and also, theyโre now $11.50 for two kraftwiches on Fave!
Quite a nice healthy option for lunch! Though deceivingly small, it was decently substantial for lunch! Only downside was probably that itโs more on the dry side, but they definitely didnโt scrimp on the smoked salmon slices! Also, now $11.50 for two kraftwiches on Fave!
I only drink Starbucks when itโs they have their 1-for-1 deals, and rightfully so cause definitely would pay $9 for this... It was alright? But definitely pales in comparison to even other chain coffee places like CBTL... Wished that the mocha flavour could have come through stronger, instead of using pure sweetness to cover up for the lack in aroma and depth in taste ๐ฅ๐ฅ
Somehow remembered suki-ya to be a lot more affordable and value for money than what it is currently... Their only saving grace is probably that the meat slices are actually still pretty nice - especially the fatty beef > normal beef > pork! ๐๐ The variety of sides was honestly painfully limited, but still do appreciate their cheesy meatballs that I actually like! (Though some may not as itโs filled to the brim with super cheesy nacho cheese!) Decent place to satisfy your hotpot cravings, but definitely catch their 1-for-1 or eatigo deals instead cause not totally worth the usual price ๐ฅ๐ฅ
Decided to try a funkier flavour and while the berries were a refreshing touch, found the cake a little too sweet for my liking (even for me) and the slight sour touch from the berries definitely helped to cut some of the sweetness! Liked the texture of the cake too - well balanced with soft sponge cake, thicker cream and lighter cream that was wholesome and went well together! ๐๐
Was quite surprised by this chocolate cake cause definitely wasnโt expecting the cream layer to be thick and pretty decadent at this price point! Pales in comparison to chocolate cake dominators like awfully chocolate or Lana chocolate cake, but definitely still satisfying if youโre having a craving for chocolate cake and happen to be in the area ๐๐ Liked that the sponge layer was moist and went well with the pretty rich layers of cream, though would have preferred if the cake was more stuck on together as the layers felt very separate. But definitely worth at this price point!
Pretty decent meal for a casual dining restaurant, though you might be able to get better value at other Japanese restaurants (cause this was still pretty pricey!) The set menu definitely makes it a little more affordable, and you can customize it + top up whatever else you wanted! From the set we ordered a Caesar salad (average), 3 appetizers (California maki was average, gyoza was below average (could have been more crisp) and agedashi tofu was below average), 2 dons (unagi don and butadon, both of which were really nice and flavourful! PSA if you donโt take wasabi, try to ask them not to add wasabi to the rice for the butadon), a teppanyaki (grilled chicken was decent) and a sukiyaki pork hotpot (this was yum!). Topped up the salmon avocado roll (pretty good!) and liked that their salmon sashimi slices were a good balance between thick and thin and tasted fresh! ๐๐ Also had their chawanmushi and special roe chawanmushi, both of which were pretty normal~ All in all, a good place for casual Japanese food, quality wise itโs passable but very average and donโt get your expectations too high up ๐ ๐ One plus point was service was good and very very fast! ๐๐ป๐๐ป
Had this as a catering at a party, but gotta say this has been one of the better caterings Iโve had! We had the mee siam, chicken curry, beef rendang, chap chye, satay babi, tamarind prawn and gula melaka sago. Every dish was flavourful and slightly above average tastewise! Only gripe would be that I wished the beef rendang and satay Babi were more tender, but I guess thatโs asking a little too much from catering ๐ ๐ Also, particularly liked the gula melaka sago as you can titrate the level of sweetness that you want ๐๐ป๐๐ป
Possibly one of the cheapest mala Iโve had thus far (excluding the ones at school)! ๐คฏ๐คฏ Love that we could finally go all out with the meat and ingredients and it was still
Gotta put a disclaimer out there that this buffet doesnโt have too good a variety nor typical more premium dishes (such as salmon sashimi). But gotta say that itโs still pretty worth it for the fact that the food they do serve was generally pretty yummy, and the seafood was so so fresh! Free flow oysters, prawns, mussels and clams for $30++?? Yes pls any day! Definitely a more oriental slant in the buffet menu but the local food was pretty decently done. Desserts were slightly lackluster though without the typical durian pengat and most desserts were below average. Fried Kaya balls, red bean soup and the soft serve yogurt was pretty good though! Probably could find equally value buffets with better variety elsewhere, but definitely a good place to satisfy any oyster cravings ๐๐
