Omakase A truly unforgettable dining experience! Hiryu has exceeded my expectations in every way possible. The omakase course was a masterclass in flavor and technique, with each piece of sushi expertly crafted and presented. The fish was incredibly fresh, and the chef's attention to detail was impressive. The service was impeccable, with knowledgeable and friendly staff happy to answer questions. The intimate setting and serene atmosphere only added to the experience. If you're a sushi lover, Hiryu is an absolute must-visit.

One of the best omakase This was truly one of the best omakase experiences I’ve ever had. The meal began with Kegani chawanmushi (horsehair crab) — a generous portion of delicate crab, beautifully incorporated . This was followed by a stunning 9-course sushi selection: - Hircuice - Suzuki - Kanpachi - Akami - Tachiuo - Himie dai - Uni - Otoro (my favorite! Exceptionally fresh with a hint of yuzu) - Toro Taku Each piece of sushi was incredibly fresh and perfectly balanced, allowing the natural sweetness of the fish to shine through without overpowering the palate. The meal concluded with a comforting miso soup and a delightful dessert of mochi dusted with soy powder. The mochi wasn’t overly sweet, even with the addition of brown sugar. The nutty soy powder complemented the soft mochi and the brown sugar beautifully. To top it all off, the chef’s attentiveness and great sense of humor added to the overall experience, making it even more memorable.

Amazing Omakase! Hiryu's omakase was an amazing experience with delicious and subtle flavors. Each sushi piece was carefully made to highlight the best ingredients. The sushi was incredibly tender and flavorful, showing off the chef's expertise. The cozy setting and personalized service made us feel special, like we were part of a private dinner party. With each beautifully presented piece, we felt like we were in a culinary paradise, enjoying the simplicity and beauty of Japanese food

Fusion food 😋 Chopsuey is a good place to bring your overseas friends to because they have done a v good job in fusion across Asian cuisines. Favourite was the 9pc dim sum basket $26++ and another job well done for the mix of spices in food and sauces. Can give the prawn toasties a miss ($19++ for 4 and +4.50 for extra piece). The fish tofu lasagna $32++ was interesting. And of course don’t forget to order their signature sticky date pudding for dessert since it’s under PS cafe. Good dining experience and ambience. I'm not sure if they regularly change their menu but it was v different from when I first came 2 years back. Nonetheless highly recommend 👍

Dim Sum Platter This is my second visit to Chopsuey. Their food standard has always been tip top! Their dimsum Platter comes in 6 or 9 pieces. I love their spicy mushrooms dumplings.

Crispy Duck Pow Pockets ($18) Steamed soft fluffy chinese buns, stuffed with shredded cucumber and carrots, along with savoury salty yet tender moist, shredded duck confit and pulled roasted duck meat. Must order!

Wood Fired Tiger Prawns ($42). Upon entering The Dempsey Cookhouse & Bar, I was immediately mesmerized by the chic monochromatic interior. Exuding chic romantic vibes, it’s the place to go whether for a romantic date or a casual business lunch. Other than the affordable 3-course set lunch available, there’s also quite a selection on their a la carte menu. Go for the wood fired tiger prawns from the entrees as you will be served 4 jumbo tiger prawns grilled till just right, exhibiting a delectable smokiness on the hot plate. The prawns had been de-shelled so you can simply enjoy them without dirtying your hands conveniently. The pairing chili butter was, in fact, sweet and slightly creamy, somewhat like a Thai chili base. Topped with some shoestring potatoes akin to potato sticks, but they were slightly soggy upon serving. Recommended to pair with some sides such as vegetables, potato purée or French fries.

Crispy Salmon Sushi ($20++) By its name on the menu, I initially thought that the Crispy Salmon Sushi ($20++) would be an aburi sushi, but served was an interesting plate of raw salmon over crispy rice (somehow looking like a rectangular potato croquettes). Temp of the salmon was a bit (just if you let it sit long lol) affected by the temp of the rice (maybe you’ll only notice too if you’re very particular with the rawness of the fish). But (!!) the texture of the salmon and rice is very good. It’s also paired with chipotle mayo & touch of soya glaze which is a really great combi. It was a crowd fave that we intended to get seconds 😋

Crab Tartine With Grapefruit And Ginger A brunch item menu that contains a lot inspiration from Thai cuisine. It reminds me a lot of thai green mango salad that is spicy and tangy. The burst of citrus from the grapefruit enhance the main sour and spicy flavours of this dish. It's the equivalent of having the usual garden salad with Real chunks of crab in the Tartine in a European style brunch. The portion is not really huge and costs $26. Feels more like a starters than a main dish.
