Quite a crowded cafe on a Friday evening. After dinner, my friends and I managed to get a seat after about 30min. Had buttermilk waffle that goes well with the chrysanthemum honey ice cream.

The star of the night. Something different from the usual ramen I had as this is a ‘dipping’ ramen. The rich seafood broth is where you dip the al dente ramen noodle, quite tasty albeit a little salty. The flavored ramen egg is yummy. Pork slice has this smoked taste, tender to bite. Not forgetting the tiger which is egg white printed on the nori, this is rather special.

The restaurant crowd at Tanjong Pagar area was quite crazy on a Friday night. I’m lucky to have found seats without having to make a reservation at about 6 ish before the crowd picks up. Ordered this gyoza and chicken wings as starters while waiting for my friends to arrive - they didn’t disappoint!

My go to place for nice Teochew porridge. Reasonably priced and wide variety of dishes to choose from. The braised duck is a must order dish!

It’s Japan’s leading gyudon restaurant chain. This no frills and casual dining place sees quite a long queue after work hours. It’s not hard to guess why it has a long queue. What you see is a tasty and filling set meal which is less than $10: comes with tender beef slices atop the fragrant jap rice, miso soup and veggie (Healthy balanced diet) . The egg was a top up. I didn’t like the idea of breaking it on my own, cos I’m bad at cracking eggs. No surprise I made a little mess 🤪

11 August. Brought parents out to celebrate mum’s bday. You need to be vaccinated to dine in at restaurant. This is another spicy but flavourful dish, could have asked for less spicy too. Is it Yun Nan people enjoy stronger tasting and spicy food? Or I’m just weak 🤣

11 August. Brought parents out to celebrate mum’s bday. You need to be vaccinated to dine in at restaurant. This fish is tasty but we could have asked for lesser chilli as it was quite spicy. 😝

August 10. We reopened for dining out. Went to Jewel to celebrate a friend’s bday. This is good for about 4 pax but the soup is quite little. Tried to ask for soup refill, unfortunately they don’t allow. Still a yummy dish to share with friends.

$26.50!!! For 6 small tarts. I must be crazy. Really not cheap but decided to get a box to try. The 3 chocolate tarts stood out among all but I like the chocolate almond tart the most. This is the 1st left one of the box which had the rich chocolatey and nut taste. The passion fruit was quite sour so if you are not a fan of sour pastry skip it!

This was bought for a friend’s bday. Tart base is quite thick and crunchy filled with rose flavoured jelly, topped with lychee bobo. The filling I find it a little hard as I was expecting more like a curd instead of jelly. Personally I prefer a softer and thinner tart base.

Ordered the 4 pax set meal via ChangiEats. Very disappointed as the food reached us cold and the fries were mushy too. The delivery was also much delayed but merchant didn’t even provide any compensation. Never order ChangiEats if you stay a distance from Jewel. 😠
