U.P. $7 (+ $0.50 for ice). Can really taste the gao-gao dark chocolate used for the chocolate drink, but the amount/volume of the cup when full was either the same or < than 200ml of packet Milo size (if poured into this cup with ice, might probably even overflow).
Slightly too less for the price IMO even for 1-for-1, damn expensive if it was $7.50 each, even if it were god tier, which wasn't exactly the case but just something different and potent tasting compared to normal diluted chocolate drinks.
Not much a review but your ๐ and mood will lift if you & your friend got 2 of these for only $5.90โจ
BB 1-4-1 Value for $$ Approved ๐
Knew the existence of this place cos of BB, but in the end BB deals were not as worth as compared to student prices.
Student Ml. (comes with free can of soft drink + free pasta upsize), one of those places that's in my books for cheap/value-for-money.
Decent plate of pasta, although portion size was still quite small even after upsizing. Carbonara here has a stronger "hammy taste" than creamy/cheese-y taste. Value for $$, will be back if I'm craving cheap and decent pasta.
$17.05 for 2, ($7.95 x 2 x 1.07)
ใLamb Cutlet๐ใ
- Not bad, decent but can be better. Cous-cous salad did a decent job in cleansing the palette of the gaminess of the lamb. Lamb's flavour could be further elevated, tasted slightly too one-dimensional. A 7/10
ใCharcoal Steakใ
- Friend got this, tried a few bites, decently seasoned with a chewy texture but nothing too special or mind-blowing. Might pop-by again if I'm in the area and if BB 1-for-1 deal is still available.
Paid ~$23 per pax.
Cheese (top) & Earl Grey Flavours ($2.5 ea.)
Came here @10.30pm on a weekday and was surprised that the place was still bustling and packing a full house ๐
A little ironic when you realise the place is called "Burnt Cones" and the cone part is probably its speciality but the BB deal excludes the "cone" part and only offers 1-for-1 in a cup ๐
Interior decor is ๐ฏ๐ฏ for date nights and couples, my first step into this restaurant I wondered why the heck I chose to visit this place with a guy lol
Mains:
- Fettucine Boscaiola ($32) (L-Bottom)
(basically fettucine w ham & mushrooms in a white wine sauce)
ยท White Wine Sauce was indeed very potent, distinct tasting
- Lobster Ravioli ($32)
Antipasti Classico (Starters):
- Insalata Di Salmone ($24)
(smoked salmon w salad/capers in a lemon vinaigrette)
- Calamari Fritti ($19)
(pretty worth side & quickbites tbh, comes w 2 dipping sauces, 1 pizza-ish tomato sauce and the other sth like a sour cream tartar)
Paid ~$34 per pax, $$ price point.
Extremely long waiting time although restaurant was at most 20% full at Sun. lunch, and after seeing 3 groups of people who came after us (large Malay/Indian families who apparently made a reservation got served their food way before us), I physically went downstairs to ask for our order again after waiting for >1hr, which I got a response saying "it's going to be ready soon" again but with 4pcs of pide bread on the house as an apology this time round for the long waiting time, which makes me think that they prioritized their reservation orders before ours, despite we arrived first. Funny thing is that we were eyeing to eat at a restaurant across the street a few metres away, but got ushered to this restaurant claiming they were the same place, although the signboards and menus are quite different and are clearly 2 separate places.
Got the Pideli Kofta ($24) & Beyti ($23.9)(Lamb & Beef mince wrapped in their baked lavash bread). Food was generally okay (although nothing stood out) but due to the long waiting time, I doubt I'll recommend this place or be back.
Disappointing and dishes had a homely-feel (not in a good way, lacklustre tasting). Do note that with BB they now stopped serving the free appetizer inclusive in the 1-for-1 $20, which was disappointing since I looked forward to their Beef Chilli Fries, seeing the reviews. Decoration was very laid-back and had chill vibes but food wise personally I felt even I could have cooked it even better lol - fries & skin of grilled salmon way too salty and overseasoned, overcooked pasta. Luckily only cost $22 w svc, for both.
Tempura Mentaiko - I generally liked it (didn't find any reason to dislike it) despite seeing quite a number of negative reviews for this, value for $$ since you get 3pcs of battered fish for the price @U.P. of $20. Mentaiko taste was prominent and not overwhelming, nothing to rave about but definitely not lacklustre, decent bowl of pasta really. 8/10
Truffle Carbonara (friend got this) - If you're a fan of creamy pasta (I am) well this won't go wrong for you (not in a position to rate since I only took 2-3 bites) (U.P. $24), x 1.177 = $28.25 for 2
Ingredients used were of quality, but standard of cooking could have been better to highlight the potency, especially the tenderloin cut and cherry tomatoes. Tenderloin was slightly underseasoned and overly raw in the middle, while the cherry tomatoes could have been sat in the iron skillet longer so that it'd be bruised more and the sweetness wld be released.
Paid ~$17 per pax.
2nd time here to try out other flavours ๐
โก Tropical Coco = 10/10, damn coconutty, and very "real-tasting", can taste the slight bitterness that'll only come frm real coconuts. As good and definitely won't lose to Mr Coconut's ice-cream ๐ฏ๐ฏ
โก Guilty Swirl (friend's choice) = Essentially Cookies & Cream, the taste of the dairy/milk they used for this is perhaps slightly acquired - some ppl wld like some ppl wldnt like as much (under its flavour profile it includes cream cheese
At this point I'd say the ice-cream here is q strong tasting for their respective flavours, which I personally enjoy a lot โ๏ธ
Sinful meal of juicy & fat-glistening tender chicken & pork cutlets, combined with the sweetness of the vegetables, ๐ฏ๐ฏ. Sauces were alright, nothing too much of a wow-factor though, it's still not bad. As a cheese fnatic, the creamy au-gratin potatoes was the underdog on the plate for me, will give a solid 8/10. Below $25 for a decent & classic Western grill meal for 2, worth it ๐โ๏ธ
