Katanashi An (Boon Tat St) 14 Jul’25, Mon🌧️ 📍Katanashi An (Boon Tat St) - Tori Mentai (Grilled Chicken with Mentai) Tender and juicy grilled chicken with a tad salty Mentai, goes really with with the rice. Can eat it with dashi broth or on its own, decent and comfort food indeed. Damage: $19.25 incl. of svc charge

Unagi Omelette My year 2021 ended with several fun filled dinner with drinks, one I particularly enjoyed happened at this semi-causal Japanese joint. The food was straight forward along with this crowd pleasing sake I picked. I also learnt about SMV and rice polishing ratio courtesy of Google as I chose this bottle. We had a bottle of sake and a drink each, with about 3 rounds of side food and some rice- that worked out to be $60+/pax. I reckon I would be paying more else where for a similar dining experience.

Dashi-zuke Lunch Set Portion is just right, lunch sets (mainly all dashi-zuke) are as it is, not much variety like their dinner menu, so fewer drinks, and sides available. Lunch is somewhat crowded, dwindle down by 1pm, good to make a reservation. And be sure to check their monthly special.

Pretty dessert Went to Luna again after some time and got their classic Luna 2.0 ($9) and got Blossom ($9). The Blossom is like a standard lychee cream which is alright but not wow enough. However, the Luna 2.0 is their OG and I like the richness of the chocolate and the cruchiness hazelnut

Delicious food, great drinks and lovely ambience! One of my favourite bars with delicious and decently priced food!! A must try would be the Hatten Cheese ($8) this cheese fishcake dish is simple yet mindblowing - love the drinks here as well especially the umeshu ($8), very lovely ambience and perfect for date nights!

Mentaiko Udon With Kimchi It’s quite a find for this japanese izakaya place along the whole stretch of boat quay! Very chill ambiance with super goood izakaya variety and they have rather reasonable priced sake on promotions. One of my favorite was this mentaiko udon with kimchi, simple but very light and refreshing, could just easily slurp the whole bowl down. Other than that must try their battered squid too! It’s amazingly good!

the KFC Legend For $2.50 a chunk, it may seem overpriced. But the way they prepared it (24h marination) allowed the flavours to seep into all of the meat & skin. It simply slides off the bone. Called KFC (katanashi fried chicken), it may trump the original one. Also, A+ for service, value and views here

Bravery Chicken Ragu Bravery Chicken Ragu ($18) features a piece of herbed chicken thigh on top of al dente spaghetti tossed with mushroom and roasted vegetables in creamy ragout sauce. The chicken is tender and moist, while the sauce is creamy but not too heavy. Cream pasta is not usually my first choice of pasta but this was enjoyable. The portion is very generous as well. Yums!

Lavender Latte ($6) Your typical latte but with the fragrance of lavender. Coffee was standard but the lavender made it quite unique - it was an interesting coming together of the aromas. The dried lavender bits can be quite strong so you may want to avoid actually chewing into them if you’re not a fan of strong aromas. I wouldn’t get this again but it was interesting to try. Visited on an afternoon of a Public Holiday and the cafe was not too busy, had some seats available for my friend and I. Staff were friendly.

Seafood Pancake chive(choice of Spring Onion and sth else avail) 25++ Wonderfully soft batter w quite a bit of seafood, chive taste wasn't very strong, centre of the exterior was not crispy but the 1/3 ring of the exterior was extremely, dare i say perfectly, crispy and light. Excellent, the sauce was alright. If the middle of the exterior was crispy as well, and the Pancake holds its shape better, it would have been pure perfection. As it stands it's alr one of the best I've had Overall: this place is very ex for a lousy location. For one soup one Pancake and one main, two of us spent 47nett per pax. You dont expect to be spending this kind of money here, but honestly the squid was the one that's really ridiculously priced

Galbitang 18.9++ Light sweet ginseng Base, the generous pieces of chunky beef Rib were very tender, if a little bit dry. It's got a sweetness to it One of the best galbitang ive had, and very value for money for this quality

Spicy squid Ala Carte 30++ The squid was fine, sauce was somewhat different, it's a spin because it's peppery. But for 30bucks and honestly not super impressive, it's definitely to be avoided

Haemul Pajeon (Seafood & Green Onion Pancake) (Small: $17.90++) Haemul Pajeon (Seafood & Green Onion Pancake) (Small: $17.90++) Each slice was pretty thick, and it's slightly crispy on the outside, and there's a pretty strong seafood flavour which I q liked! Also, the portion is pretty huge for a "Small".

Hawker/Kopitiam, Char Kway Teow
What u came to Zion Riverside 4. A popular store here at ZRFC. There was once I came here for lunch and queued up from the traffic light outside of the hawker centre. That was how popular it was during its heyday. Now the queue not as long anymore, but this plate of CKT can still eat la. Still got queue but not as long anymore, but still need to wait 20-30mins at least. Wok hei is strong. And the entire plate of CKT was wet & flavourful.

Char Kway Teow A sinful messy plate of greasy black gooey noodles loaded with beansprouts, cockles, fishcake, lup cheong and lard. The noodles were moist and leaned more on the sweeter side with a tinge of wok hei 》$6

Char Kway Teow There is wok hey and the portion is rather decent for a $5 one. It’s not dry but rather more ‘wet’ which is to my liking Will definitely go back again
