All the pasta here are handmade so they really taste different. I like that the penne here have a smooth texture and thinner compared to usual ones. It just kinda holds on more sauce and blends better :p Aside from the heavenly truffle fragrant I really like how the chef baked the cheese and parsley, it's almost like having a thin crust that adds on to the texture of every bite. Just like how it's done. :) if you are lucky - this comes as one of the choice if main in the lunch set; notice that the mains change weekly. So catch it while you can ya! This place offers great service and they always made an effort to remember you. Perfect for a getaway lunch on weekday and Great place for dinner too.
Tossed fresh crunchy lettuce with juicy sweet tomatoes, boiled potatoes and crunchy asparagus in a mix of olive oil, lemon and light salad dressing. Top with touch of thinly sliced radish and 3 different types of tuna. And not forgetting the fragrant slice of baguette spread with olive pate at the side. Personally this is exactly how I like my salad. It's make me happy just to have this as a light lunch on any weekday. This dish comes as of the salad selection the lunch set (45 for 2 course meal).

My to-go stall when I crave for wanton noodle(3/4). Savory black sauce with Q-Q noodles tops with generous chunks tender char Siew and a mixtures of fried wanton/dumpling/ngoh-hiong. It also comes with the standard bowl wanton soup. Great crave quenchers :) Best to go before 12 to skip the queue, else can expect to wait for 20-30 mins. Look for the Tiong Bharu sign board at L2.

You heard all the rave about their Shiok Maki too? Well I've been hearing lots so just gotta try it. Shiok Maki (16.8) it's a grilled sushi roll top with generous mentaiko cheese and tobiko. The slightly burned mentaiko sauce goes perfectly well with the Aburi Salmon on the top and the Avocado and Eel within. The texture is really creamy and creates the melting sensation when you ate with the roll. You can see everyone around just wipe off the sauce on the plate! Just like eating a good curry and rice. Yaki Udon (8) the first taste reminds me of takoyaki! We enjoyed this dish a lot because we like how the egg was done with the sauce! It's not too watery or starchy, the sauce makes the tangy udon smooth and you can just slurpz and slurpz! But you don't want to miss the sauce so you scoop and try to stick them more to your udon. Then it's gone! I'm not a udon person but this is Umai! This place is worth trying if you have cravings for Japanese food and need a quick fix. Given the location it's definitely not for fine dining or gatherings. Cheers :)
Aburi Sushi - Freshly made and grilled to perfection. The assorted Aburi Sushi is my top recommendation for this place. Each of them have unique flavors and dressings. I can't decide if I like the beef one the most or the salmon. They are serve hot and best eat when hot as all the flavors will just burst and melts in your mouth. Taste really GOOD. The lunch sets here are value for money. We ordered a lunch sets that comes with starters (3 small dish), salad, miso soup, Aburi sushi (assorted in pic), 4 BBQ skewers, sashimi (salmon and swordfish), seafood hotpot, grilled salmon with mentaiko mayo, mix tempura and ice-cream. It's good for 2 ladies, cost about 50. Very satisfying meal with good service.
Top-right anti clockwise: Passion-Fruit meringue(6.5), Chocolate Sea Salt Caramel(6.5) and Lemon Drizzle (5). The popular choice is of course the Passion Fruit meringue recommended by everyone here. But do give the Chocolate Sea Salt Caramel a try if you drop by - the flavors just burst in your mouth and melt away smoothly. It's not too sweet and goes very well with coffee. The Lemon Drizzle might look ordinary but you'll love the refreshing hint of lemon that lingers after every bite. It's on the sweeter side due the frosting but it goes very well with tea.
