XO Food Tour - this bike tour brought us to the various districts in Saigon, away from the touristy central district. Food was good, but not spectacular. We had Beef Noodle ( not Pho), some BBQ mutton which district 8 is renowned for, and seafood in district 4. The clam with peanut and salt is sick, probably the best thing I had for the night. What I enjoyed more is the history behind each district, and how the guide introduced us to what each district is famous for. Not the typical in-your-face-Vietnam-food but local street food nonetheless. And I realise that you can turn anything into Vietnamese by pairing it with basil leaves.

Street food tour by Back of the Bike - I think I enjoyed riding on the bike more than the food. 5 stops in 4 hours. Food's pretty awesome, but riding at the back of the bike is a rare chance to see the locals, away from the busy districts. Snapping away on the bike proved to be more difficult that it looks, especially in Vietnam where no one observes any traffic rules. Cars and bikes need to learn to chill, they just keep honking the second the traffic light turns green.
My fav gotta to be the papaya salad with beef jerky, and the Vietnamese Baguette stuffed with 9 different kind of meat. It's like Subway, but more wicked and down to earth.

5. The charity bake sale - making close to 200 cupcakes is no joke. It took every bit of my energy to pull off this baking marathon, almost had a meltdown because the frosting didn't go as well as I expected. Lesson learnt - don't bite off more than you can chew #charitybakesale #homemade #cupcakes

Sushi Dai - being a foodie that I am, when you are in the land of sushi, you gotta have to best sushi you can find, even if you have to wake up at ungodly wee hours in the morning (3am) and queue for 2 hours before the sushi store is open for business. 3. A Mei ameizing tour - i don't care if she looks like a whale, this mandopop diva killed every song. No one can come close to this diva. I was soaking in the moment when she performed her ballad marathon, super shiok. And perhaps the only concert where I will scream my head off. #amei #ameizing #diva
2. Beyonce Super Bowl performance - I remembered sneaking out from a course to the toilet just to watch her performance online. And I was silently squeaking as she delivered hits after hits. She proved why she is the queen and silenced all the critics because of the lip syncing incident at Obama's inauguration. #beyonce #queenb #superbowl #diva
1. Japan Alpine Route - the journey there was a difficult one, broke up with my travel mates and was so worried we couldn't regroup. But god has its own way of teaching us to trust our instinct. As I stood before the majestic mountain top, in that moment, we are nothing but just small pieces of a big big universe, and suddenly all my worries and problems seem so insignificant. 4. Year of Miley Cyrus, all for the wrong reason - she's everywhere this year, a public nuisance to many. I love her songs, in fact some of her songs are my fav this year. 3. Little India Riot - I never thought that I will live to see a riot in squeaky-clean Singapore. But may this all teach us that anything is possible and never take anyone for granted, even those who sweep our roads and build our offices.

Gordon Ramsay cookoff - being the foodie that I am, naturally I would feel excited about having this Michelin star gracing our sunny island and take on our local masterchefs to create some of the most iconic hawker dishes. What I really hope this event does is not only to create all the hype and buzz about hawker food, but also to preserve our local heritage in the long run. Pointless to spend millions on this campaign, only to turn our back against our hawker heroes and continue having pretentious French cuisine in some atas restaurant once the event is over
