I normally don't like Chinese smoked fish as I normally find it too dry, but this was soo good! Nice and crispy skin with flesh that's not dried out. Yummm
After ordering the spinach and bacon udon last time, I decided to give the eggplant udon a try. Very tasty, but I should have added cheese (extra $10)- but otherwise it's nice and simple. This cost even less ($59) than the spinach one.
After a day of shopping and watching a movie, we decided to have a light dinner at Deli and Wine. The portion size was just right, and the beef patty was surprisingly juicy and succulent. Good value overall ($42), but the fact that you have to wait for tables as if you're in a fast food restaurant can get frustrating. You can also enjoy the night lights across the harbour after dinner!
So le bf ordered this and was not too impressed as it was not creamy (he loves his cream sauces). It's unique in a way that you wouldn't find this combination anywhere else, but otherwise it's overpriced ($208) and will probably leave you looking for desserts/a second meal.
Very creamy goat cheese sauce, but the beet root crisps were too oily. Not bad overall! $118
Mmm love the creamy custard in this! If it was chilled longer then it would probably taste more like ice cream.
Good portion size if you're a girl, quite rich in flavor as well. However it was too spicy for me and consequently drank 2-3 cups of water during the meal. Good deal for $69!
What do people never get tired of? Sashimi. So imagine my joy when I found this neat little takeout place selling ONLY sashimi (ok I lied, you can also buy sushi platters and handrolls, but the majority is sashimi). Their lunch set only costs $45 ($50 for mixed sashimi) and comes with either a can of green tea or soda. They pack in sooooo much salmon into one little bowl, that the ratio of fish to rice is almost 1:1. Awesome value!
I wasn't expecting it to be so big, but I'm not complaining! Obviously they wouldn't put slices of duck, but the shredded duck was good enough for me. The only thing I didn't enjoy as much was the sauce- it was a bit too sweet, and they were too generous with it (haha #firstworldproblemsagain) Overall, it's decently priced ($48) and tasty.
The tea set was decently priced (around $1xx for one) and comes with a teapot for each person and 2 snack platters- savory and sweet. It's nice and quiet so it's a great place for catching up with friends. However the food is average, but hey they're just scones and sandwiches.
Quite pricey, but the thick slices of melt-in-your-mouth sashimi goodness makes it totally worth it.
