was quite looking forward to dining here, having heard/read about the place. simply furnished, with drinks and coffee made by people from barstories and papa palheta, it was a pretty nice place for a relaxed dinner. the table in the centre of the restaurant was a long zig zagged table and we were sitting at a space in the middle of the whole long table. the clever design of the table allowed us our own space but it also meant seats on the inside werent so accessible and that whatever was happening to the parties next to us could affect us. which in our case, the guys getting high on alcohol next to us hit the table with some force a few times. food was not bad imo, though the common stuff like fried chicken werent much impressive. i thought the drinks (we had mocktails, a cocktail, liquor and beer among the 5 of us) were good. the place could be good for a quiet cosy date or girls night out, or a loud and fun group outing, depending on where you are seated.
the bakery makes their own breads, cakes and drinks. could tell that heart and thought went into the food they make. as their slogan goes, "good food makes people happy". it is a happy place for me, pretty and nice lil cakes. honest, straightforward simple stuff, nothing fanch. not too wide a selection though. and cafe is real small - 3 tables which seat max of 3 pax each.
noisy place but pretty okay if you are in your group and get a decent corner. bites are okay, desserts are not. drinks are more sweet and diluted, and doesnt pack the punch my friends were expecting. service is okay.
small quiet place. we were lucky there werent other people around much in the few hours we were there. service at the start werent that great though, we were left waiting for quite a while. food and drinks are okay. prob good for a cosy quiet time for dates or girls night out.
initial impression wasnt too bad. big spacious place, quick service. first dish was served pretty quickly, but thereafter slowed down. still cant quite believe we had to wait for 50 mins for the last dish - xlb, though. think the kitchen forgot about it. ): not a lot of variety available for dim sum (which was what we were looking for). enjoyed the crispy banana and shrimp roll item and the steamed pork dumpling in spicy vinegar had a really nice and smooth wrap. the char siew pastry was good too. the fried yam puff and xlb were disappointing though.
another of my time spent alone sat off afternoons. had lunch at nearby dept of caffeine before coming over. loved the key lime crumble cake and hot chocolate that i had. the place seemed more suitable for group chillout than lone patrons (thats why the name huh). would love to go back nevertheless. alone or with companion.
not too bad a place for some chill out time. feels more private yet spacious than a few other cafes in the area. a lil noisy at lunch time though. prob better for group chill out and catch up than lunches alone.
nice complement between the warm lava cake and the ice cream (: pleasant mix of warm and cold, thick and light textures.
