Khaja is a popular Newari cuisine that is commonly found in Kathmandu Valley. I tried the chicken curry set that came with chiura (flattened/beaten rice), bhatmas sadheko (crunchy fried soya beans with mixed spices), aloo sadheko (steamed potatoes with mixed spices), pickled bittergourd and gundruk (pickled leafy vegetables). The chiura has an interesting texture and is very chewy ... good exercise for the jaws! I liked the chicken curry and aloo sadheko best as both were very flavorful.
