New Restaurants, Cafes And Bars in KL: November 2015

MORE Shibuya honey toasts are here this month alongside cheap and good lunches, a new ramen place serving you the most tender kakuni in town, and more!

Damansara Uptown is certainly no stranger to desserts, from waffles to soft serve and pies. Miru Dessert Cafe adds to this variety with their Shibuya Honey Toasts, a great option for sharing among a group of four friends! The original Shibuya Honey Toast (RM16) is simple and classic — thick toast served with honey and vanilla ice cream. If you’re feeling adventurous, check out the Cheddar Cheese Toast (RM18) for something a little more creative, the shredded cheese paired with vanilla ice cream makes for an interesting sweet-savoury combo!

Run by Alun Evans, the mastermind behind the Antipodean Cafes, Delirium is little hidden gem that is taking their food seriously. From dishes like Beef & Lamb Meatball Pasta (RM29) to Kedgeree Rice (RM18), you will definitely discover something new when you dine at Delirium. The food is healthy, interesting, and presented beautifully. Delirium also provides great options for vegetarians, with many tasty meatless dishes. For drinks, go for their Avocado Milk Shake (RM10), or a well-executed pour over coffee (RM10) — ask the barista for the beans of the day to see if the taste profile suits your palate!

Serving both sweet and savoury items, your options are endless here at Rubberduck. For breakfast, go for the pancakes served with berry compote and vanilla cream (RM17), complete with maple syrup and butter, of course. Healthy options include smoothie bowls (RM18) and a breakfast wrap (RM18) with scrambled eggs and smoked salmon. Please don't miss their freshly baked Madeleines (RM3) and Carrot Cake (RM9), these are perfect paired with a coffee and an intimate conversation.

The Culture Pot might just be your next favourite lunch spot in Damansara Uptown — these guys will fill your belly for less than RM15! If you’re craving a basic breakfast, go for the Daily Brekkie that includes chicken sausage, ham, sautéed mushrooms, toast, eggs and coffee or tea for just RM12.90. For Asian flavours, dive into their Chicken Biryani Rice (RM13.90) with a side salad of your choice (additional RM3), but be prepared for a case of food coma after your meal. There is no more deciding where to eat for lunch with your colleagues once you’ve tried this place!

Bankara Ramen has opened their second branch at Mid Valley Megamall. Be sure to order their Tonkotsu broth with kakuni (RM36.15), an unbelievably tender braised pork belly slice marinated in an umami-sweet sauce that goes perfectly with your ramen. Add an egg, and an obligatory slab of butter for a smoother texture and ultimate decadence. For dessert, try the Annin Tofu (RM7.90), a cold, light and creamy almond-flavoured tofu that reminds you of panna cotta. This hearty ramen is perfect for rainy days, or days where you need comfort food with your friends!
