Make sure to order the popular Bara Chirashi Don ($13), sporting fresh and substantial portions of squid, prawn, tuna and salmon. Not a fan of sashimi? Turn to the Aburi Duck Teriyaki Donburi ($12) – thick cuts of savoury smoked duck drizzled in sweet teriyaki sauce, and then topped with a runny onsen egg.

The NZ Ribeye (from $18) is a bit of a splurge but since it comes in a hefty 200g slab, you can order this to share long with the flavour-packed Bacon Aglio Olio ($8.90).
