If you’re wondering where the Sixth Avenue wanton mee stall by a former Crystal Jade chef moved to, Burppler AC Chan has some good news for you! Swing by Bukit Batok and feast on Hong Kong-style Wanton Noodle ($3.50), Beef Tendon Beef Brisket Rice/Noodles ($6) and Chicken Feet Noodle ($4).

Big Bowls Project

One of the newest additions to make a splash in Amoy Street Food Centre is this Muslim-owned salmon bowl stall. There are only four items on the menu, which feature four types of salmon seasoning: homemade recipe (think soy sauce and sesame), Szechuan black bean, mentaiko and truffle oil. Priced from $7.90, all bowls come with brown rice, but you can opt to replace it with spinach for $0.50.

Big fan of lu rou fan? Next time you’re in Geylang Bahru, try this bowl from San Lor Bak Png. At $3.80, you get a substantial amount of steamed rice ladled with braised pork belly chunks, juicy shiitake mushroom and pickled cucumber discs.

Ms. Kneady’s

From the same team behind Mr. Kneady’s comes this dessert stall dishing out cheesecakes and creme brûlées. Burppler Xing Wei Chua is usually skeptical when it comes to flavoured variations of the latter, but he was very pleased with the “harmonious blend of custardy edginess with the booziness of rum with rum-soaked raisins” of the Rum & Raisins Creme Brûlée here. Time to Wishlist this, sweet-toothed Burpplers!

Noods & Meats

Yishun just got more exciting with this Muslim-owned smokehouse popping into the scene. Their daily menu of in-house smoked smoked proteins include spring chicken, beef brisket and lamb chops. Have it as a main, or enjoy it with their handmade pasta (from $9.90) or with buns (from $5.90). They also have communal platters perfect for sharing (from $29.90 for two to three).

Sutachi

Here’s one more spot in Chinatown Complex Market & Food Centre to sate that donburi craving! At $7.50, you get a sizeable bowl of short grain rice topped with lean but tender and juicy beef slices and onsen egg. Other than the grain bowls and noodles, you can also get bar bites like truffle fries and edamame to pair with your draft beers from the neighbouring stalls at night.

Kampung Kia Nasi Lemak

Here’s one more spot for nasi lemak in the East! Instead of the fried chicken wing option at $4, try something new and go for the Rendang or Curry Chicken Nasi Lemak ($5.50) for a saucier option. If you love Malaysian-style curry noodles, then the Kampung Kia Curry Mee ($5.50) is a must-try too!

Iskina Cebu (Tampines)

If Timbre+ is too ulu for you, then perhaps the Tampines outlet of this Filipino roast meats stall is more accessible. With the same items in the menu, you can now get your Lechon de Cebu fix here, or our community favourite, Spicy Bellychon!

Geylang Lor 9 Fresh Frog Porridge (Tampines)

Just a stone’s throw away from Tampines West station is the second outlet of the well-loved frog porridge stall from Geylang. Bookmark this for rainy evenings and Burppler Jasmine Li adds that the same stall also serves Sambal Stingray grilled to perfection!
