I really like this, this is exactly GUI ling GAO. Herbal notes, the jelly isn't sweet at all by itself and the thin sugar water was mildly sweet. The toppings were of good quality too.

Around for a long time for good reason. No queue at 115pm too

Portion is just nice for 1pax as well, it's abit smaller than you would expect. The ice is just there to keep it chilled, don't have to eat the chunk of ice

A standard no frills bowl of Chin Chow Cold ($1.80) is what we all need every other day to cool down from the heat. The grass jelly at @zhaoangrannygrassjelly is not too herbaceous while the cane sugar and crushed ice added to it makes it a perfect dessert.

The grass jelly here is handmade from boiling the chin chow leaves to turning them into jelly. I have my bowl of grass jelly with 2 toppings (nata de coco and sea coconut) served in a ceramic bowl with a metal spoon. They also added some shaved iced to keep them cool. The grass jelly came in large wobbly chunks and it has a texture that is consistently smooth and slippery. A perfect soothing and old school dessert for an after meal treat.

They have 4 types of toppings (Nata de Coco, Palm Seed, Longan, Sea Coconut) available to go along with the grass jelly.

Small Bowl 》$1.60
Small w 1 Topping 》$2.20
Small w 2 Toppings 》$2.50
Small w 3 Toppings 》$2.90
Big (takeaway only) 》$5.50

This chinchow ($2) is a lot firmer in texture than the usual ones we have in Singapore and it’s not soaked in syrup so I could really taste the chinchow! This reminds me more of chao kuay in Thailand and I have missed that indeed!
