Went to the motherland of Roasted Goose, Yuen Long district. Despite all the famous roasted meat stalls, this was the unique one. They only served roasted goose, Chinese wine chicken and char siew. As compared to other stalls, such stall offered this limited variety was very uncommon in Hong Kong. .
The owner insisted using 4.2kg "black" goose from Guang Zhou. Even though it was more pricy, it's meat was more tender. To achieve the crispy skin, the owner air dried for a day and clothed with vinegar and honey before roasting. One bite, it's juices raised under the skin and the fragrant just flooded my entire palate. Remember to eat it with their sour plum sauce to reduce the fattiness. Best roasted goose ever. .
I didn't get to try their char siew and Chinese wine chicken but from the smell, I believe they were worth a try. They also have a hidden dish - braised innards (try it if you dare). .
If you ever visit this place with your family or friends, ordered half a goose and couple of beer (blue girl), you will have the best afternoon ever!
Come after 12, you must prepared to Q for at least 30mins. .
