Char Siu & Roasted Pork Noodle

I really appreciate a dessert that's healthy and complementary. Plus it's nice cos there's a bit of citrus

Siew yoke was quite high quality, skin wasn't too crispy anymore though as it was abit cold. Char siu was also at about half the power of the msia original branch, it's got the very unique almost candy like chewiness but there wasn't enough meatiness and char

Overall at this standard it's not bad but not worth travelling for, even if you haven't tried the original branch which is much much better

After gobbling down some of the “char siew” here for lunch, I decided to order more to take home with me. It may be on the sweetish side but it is really tasty. Tender and juicy, the roasted meat seems to have a glossy caramelised finish on the outside. The portion shown above cost $30 which I feel, is worth paying for.

Stumbled upon this place when we were looking for somewhere to have lunch as “Song Kee Fishball Noodle” was already closed for CNY.
I‘d ordered the X.O. Duck and Char Siew Noodles ($10.50 + 7% GST) for myself - swipe to see it. While the thin noodles were cooked al dente and tossed in a tasty dark sauce, the duck drumstick didn’t quite live up to its promising sexy looks for me (hopefully it’s just a one-off), but fortunately, the “char siew” saved the day. It‘s on the sweetish side and remarkably delicious, with a caramelised finish on the outside and tender juiciness within. One bite was all it took to prompt me to place an order of it for takeaway. The portion shown above cost $30 and was the last of what they had. Business was brisk today, to say the least.
I will return soon to try their “sio bak” as it had run out by the time we arrived at the eatery. This is enough to convince me it has to be of a high standard.

Also known as Volcano Tofu, this dish came steaming hot!! The tofu was silky smooth and had a melt in your mouth texture. The sauce was flavourful and had bits of minced meat and seaweed. This is one of their signature dishes and a definite must order when you’re here!
