This is one great hidden find! Tucked in a corner of AMK, Yong Kee Fish Soup was brought in from Batam not too long ago. The no-milk soup was not too rich but still flavorful and yet, surprisingly light and sweet at the same time. I finished mine and that didn't cause any unwanted thirst (you know that feeling that kicks in when there's too much msg!). The slices of fish were fresh and of good thickness. Can't wait to try their seafood soup next time!
Now you don't need to travel to Batam for it, as they have an outlet at Ang Mo Kio. The slices of fish are excellent, as it taste fresh and smooth. The chilli compliments well with the fish slices!
Having operated for over 20 years, this iconic fish soup restaurant is famous for its simple clear fish soup which beats many other fish soup in Indonesia. Good news is, you don’t have to travel all the way to Batam for their fish soup now as they have set up a stall in Ang Mo Kio! Read about it at www.misstamchiak.com

While the yam adds in the flavour, it still needed more work to get it really infused with the soup or it will feel kind of separated.

Known in Batam for their clear seafood fish soup, the restaurant has recently opened its first stall in Ang Mo Kio, block 133.
The fresh fish slices are being cut daily by the stall owner at the stall every morning. A light and comforting bowl of fish soup beehoon to kick start the day.
