This stall in Sin Ming has four different types of dough that gives it different colours - Butterfly Pea, Beet Root, Pumpkin and Spinach. Blue, Red, Orange and Green. Does the mee hoon kway dough tastes any different? I have to say no.

But other than the colours, the mee hoon kway checks all the required boxes. Clear soup, check. Dough is hand torn, check. Adds Sayur Manis, check. Cracks an egg into the pot before serving, check.

So all in, not a bad bowl of mee hoon kway. I’ll bring my kids back here and see why they think.

Finally found this place! Nestled in a coffee shop amidst some industrial areas and hdbs in Marymount, it offers some very innovative noodles. This bowl of bluepea noodles is so QQ springy and consistently blue with bluepea essence, and I felt the soup tastes more tangy/ slight tinge of sour which I love. ($4.80). Plus it's unique that it comes with baby spinach. The crispy ikan bilis is also a win.

Will be back to try the other flavours- pumpkin, beetroot, spinach!

Colourful indeed, made using butterfly pea flowers, still a bowl of classic (hand torn) mee hoon kueh.
Side served with crispy fried anchovies.
Indulgence.

Interesting spin of the usual meehoonkuey with colours added into it. Original mhk selling at $3.50 but if you like colours in it (blue pea, beetroot, spinach, pumpkin) then it is another $1 extra. Dabaoed back, this is without the soup added. Chio but taste wise, not any different from the usual. Nothing much to rave about.

Freshly cooked mhk from here is comfort food anyday. Their kueh is really v good - super smooth and chewy. Also new found love for the pumpkin and spinach flavour kueh in the dry version as I found them to be a very good pair with the chilli sauce. I had it in soup version before and it felt a bit heavy but dry version is so gooddddd. Now I know what to order for soup/dry 😋. Rainbow needs to be preordered for those who are interested!
