Iced black tea with lime, a classic local drink to have. The sweetness was balanced, and the lime added a refreshing citrus lift.

Strong masala flavour with aromatic tea and sweet milkiness. The ratio of spice to tea was spot on, making it fragrant and very enjoyable to drink. The blend was bold yet smooth, never overpowering, and always shiok.

Ordering drinks from my favourite stall whenever I visit Yishun Park Hawker Centre. Shahana’s is one of those places where the consistency and balance of flavours keep me coming back.

Masala Tea Iced ($3)

Fluffy long grain rice served with chicken and mutton kebab, plus vegetables. Mediterranean rice is usually flavourful and aromatic, but here the taste was more subtle and soft. At least the texture was light, fluffy, and tender chewy. Perhaps it was kept mild to let the kebabs shine. Eating the rice together with the kebabs did improve the flavour, though I still felt it could be stronger.

The mutton kebab was thinly sliced, flavourful, mildly gamey, and chewy. The chicken kebab was also thinly sliced, tender, with a mild flavour but slightly dry. Between the two, I preferred the mutton kebab as it carried more character and bite. Both portions could have been more generous, as it was not quite enough to satisfy. Thankfully, the sauce helped to lift the overall taste.

Also available in original and red versions, this is a simple, down-to-earth, and authentic Sarawakian noodle dish topped with char siu, minced meat, shallots, and spring onions. I ate the black version for a richer flavour.

The Kolo Mee had a QQ springy texture, was slurpy, and coated well with the sauce. The char siu leaned toward the sweeter side, was quite meaty, less fatty, and tender. The minced meat enhanced the dish with an extra meaty taste.

Served with a bowl of savoury soup, this dish keeps things straightforward so no gimmicks, just honest flavours. Highly recommend getting the chilli sauce; it’s spicy-licious and pairs nicely with the noodles.

I wanted to try their Sarawak Laska too but sadly was sold out. Will stop by another time to try out!

Best drink ever! That sinfully thick, rich, and sweet milkiness with a touch of aromatic tea is the best to have anytime, anywhere. The way they pull either the milk or tea is just so professional, and it makes you drool while you watch them make your drink. The frothy bubble effect is the result after it's pulled. Shiok Lah! One sip will make you stim!
