This veteran brand continues to draw crowds despite being replaced by an imposter at Beo Crescent, despite the new lockdown. I managed to eat some intimidatingly busy food the last lockdown, but no such luck this time at this stall. I get the hype. I won't crave it, but it's a very good piece of work. The noodles had wok flavour and stock flavour, where many only have the latter. Stealing the show was the chilli. It may be resting in the corner but it's the bomb.

Other than the usual suspects, these are the other popular Hokkien Mee you can find in Singapore.

Fried Hokkien Mee ($5)
.
Aside from the usual curry rice from Beo Crescent that everyone raves about, 洋洲fried hokkien mee is an almost equally popular stall located just a few shops down at a nearby coffeeshop. This may not be the best I’ve had but certainly comes up as above average. I love my plate oozing with the thick gravy that’s been infused with wok-hei.
