Super long since I last had Yakun!
My favourite items here are the Kaya Butter Toasted Bread and Iced Lemon Tea!
crispy buttery kaya bread!
-$5.60 for a set (with hot coffee/tea with half boiled eggs)
-$2.60 for ala carte bread
-$3 for iced lemon tea
The dark horse behind Ya Kun, or rather, as quoted from what Ya Kun themselves told me, their “best kept secret”.
KAYA BUTTER CRACKERS ($2)
It’s as no frills as it gets - sweet kaya & slabs of lightly salted butter sandwiched between savoury cream crackers. A heritage delight that has been enjoyed in its simplicity since the 80s.
Cheese Kaya Toast Set ($4.8)
Shall stick to their Signature toast set.
This is a very traditional breakfast or tea dish. Very crispy crackers with a thick butter in between and sweet fragrant kaya - what more can a nice tea break be?!?!
The toast is Good but the service isn't.
I guess I shall be visiting Ya Kun more often nowadays🍞 (Btw, the Funan Branch is one of the better ones IMHO)
