Went to Tong Ah Eating House recently and ordered their Kaya Toast sets with Iced Coffee ($5.80 each) and their Yue Guang Hor Fun ($11)!😇 Overall ratings 8/10! Food was pretty good but coffee was mediocre. Would visit again for the kaya toast🤪

Came to a temporarily closed Keong Siak Bakery but scored some traditional kaya toast with cold butter next door that were great! They have a steamed variant for mum too conveniently steamed in the bao warmer, this rustic place is a gem.

Tong Ah Eating house used to be located at the iconic building just down the road at the V junction of Keong Saik and Teck Lim Road. And have been around since 1934.

Interior also has a very old school feel to it.

Although famous for their crispy kaya toast, they do whip up good zhi char dishes as well.

Their crispy kaya toast was rather good, just very old school style.

The Moonlight hor fun was full of wok hei. By mixing the egg yolk into the hor fun, made the fried hor fun so silky. One of the better moonlight hor fun I had. This one really can eat.

This Black Bean Hor Fun was well cooked, with wok hei. Generous amount of ingredients also.

A delicious plate of silky fried hor fun after mixing in with the raw egg. If you like “wok hey”, you will not be disappointed with this dish.
